it'll be interesting to say the least. I'll be long dead by the time the handful of survivors slowly die out as the population has withered to unsustainable levels. you know what, life's too short. fuck this shit, I'm leaving to go touch grass while it's still around to touch.

the next pandemic will hit and someone will think it's good to ask the robot what they should do as government policy and as a result there will be a mass die-off that completely crashes capitalism, and the remaining people will devolve into cults comprised of people with no clue what to do.

the only existential threat we face from AI is the one where increasing amounts of vital societal infrastructure is being surrendered to glorified customer service robots, and people are forgetting how to use their brains. the existential threat is the vibe coding on the power grids going to shit.

real "alexa, tell me it is okay that I am mimicking the propaganda strategy of a genocidal regime that everyone hates in order to sell a glorified version of a MSN messenger chatbot from the 1990s" energy on this one.

the vast majority of any given genre is "formulaic" and written for mass audience appeal. even "literary fiction". this is the realities of capitalism. there is no unskilled labour, only undervalued labour. and this applies to "mass market slop" like "formulaic fiction".
050
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
it absolutely requires skill to write "formulaic" fiction, and it becomes much more obvious when it is written poorly. that's where the trope of romance fiction being poorly made or lowest common denominator comes from - and the same applies to sci-fi and fantasy.

Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
the thing with the argument of "it's formulaic" is that it fundamentally misunderstands the whole concept of what formulaic means in terms of art. all art is formulaic to some extent or another, and pretending like it isn't is circusry, particularly because formulaic does not mean skill-less.

hell, I am already two thirds of the way to insane, what's a little more unfathomable arcane knowledge. a girl can embrace the cold, incalculable vastness of true reality as a treat. preferable to the alternative.

looks like you succeeded on that front buddy. I cannot fathom the sentiment though honestly. I will never stop wanting to know more. it is mildly self-destructive. I would be the person in a horror story who actively seeks out knowledge of the old gods even if it shatters my mind.

listening to pseudo-intellectuals (like actual pseudo-intellectuals who think they can rewrite the entire foundations of human understanding with mystical pseudo-scientific woo) talk about how being intelligent is a burden and they want to be stupider. lol.

realising me using the word "genuinely" probably undermined my joke. unfortunate.

genuinely disgusting that people will draw erotic art of/containing men when they could be drawing handsome princely butches instead. you don't even need to lose the dick if that's your entire sense of attraction, there are many gorgeous butch trans women. draw butch gock instead.

good to see they could come to an agreement that they should now try and murder all the dykes. makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know my enemies are more capable of working together despite their differences than my allies whom I share only a handful of disagreements with.

anyway, glad to see that the reactionary women who felt like their hierarchical status as women was being eroded by the existence of trans people and the reactionary men who felt like their hierarchical status as men was being eroded by the existence of women who could refuse them sex have allied.

it's also how you get those weirdos who use leftist sounding politics and identity to police the actions of others - the oppression olympics shit. hell, it's how you get dipshits who think China is good because it does authoritarian imperialism differently to America and Europe. clownshoes shit.

Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
when the position becomes insecure, threatened by something - typically economic precarity and liberation politics eroding their power - they lash out and become performative to prove to themselves and those around them how they still have that hierarchical position. that's how you get nazis.
110
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
when it comes to someone in a position of privilege, who benefits from the unjust hierarchical structures of the world, those who are secure in their position - ie: they do not feel their position is under threat - continue to engage in those hierarchies and do the horrible things as way of life.

that's right, I had to fully explain KAM to her. KAM. KAM. KAM. kill them all, set them on fire. every man is complicit in the culture and benefits from it, every man is a rapist at heart because masculinity is premised on being a rapist. it is the insecure men who reveal their hand.
110
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
I had to explain to my cishetero mother yesterday the most basic principle of being a woman, and I think it broke her a little bit but it's wild that I - a trans lesbian - had to explain the most obvious shit to her. "all men are monsters, some just reveal themselves through insecurity."
110
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
wonder if the ramp-up is correlated to the constant string of organised sex pest and rapist networks getting uncovered at campuses, in workplaces, in political offices, etc. "well we don't want to stop men from doing that, we just need to punish women for speaking out and refusing to be available."
130
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
oh boy, a hateful bigot got slandered as being a lesbian by some creep a-logger, time for the entire internet to ramp up its lesbophobia again. they've succeeded with the transphobia, time to socially murder the other unacceptable women once more.

Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
I too have those dreams, only I have to wake up into the real world where no lesbian baddie is waiting for me to reunite with her so we can continue our multi-dimensional romance. which sucks, but I can live vicariously through others.

Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
what's that you've got for me - another reincarnation story where the main character has vivid dreams about her past life? yes please, inject it right into my veins.

Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
one day they're gonna try and make me read an "AI" yuri manga, on that day I will snap and become the lesbian doomslayer wading knee-deep through the dead on my path of vengeance. it is increasingly becoming inevitable, and god is it gonna suck so much.

makes me think of the gentrified gruel techbros were trying to sell - human fuel or whatever it was called. it's the shit you have when you refuse to engage with the processes of life because you had all the capacity for deeper thought and whimsy beaten out of you chatbot "art" is gentrified gruel

they listen to ed sheeran and watch netflix comedy specials, and probably eat unseasoned food. everything is mere sustainment, the bare basic minimum they need to get through a day without crumbling to dust like my chronically dehydrated ass on a hot day. so of course a program can replace that.
150
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
I think the thing with a lot of these weirdo p-zombie types is that they fundamental do not engage with the world and also cannot engage with art at any depth beyond the most fundamentally shallow surface level. to them music is just pretty sounds. and that's art for a lot of people, even artists.
130
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
chatbots could never conceptualise "what if we remade MF Doom's classic 'Coffin Nails' but out of sounds found exclusively in the episode of the Simpsons where they spoof 'The Shining' then loop that for an hour" and thus could never replace music for me.

it's neither here nor there really because a lot of nobles at the time were probably doing pretty similar things to their serfs - but it was largely the widowed women with power and land that seemed to get arrested for it.
010
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
yeah, that's pretty much the story. she was the owner of a large amount of land and was the aunt to political rival of the Habsburgs who was attempting to gain Ottoman support for an independent Hungary. but she may have also been a murderer and they used it as pretext to act.

coming next year, an 8 episode series about how Delphine LaLaurie was actually exactly the same as Nat Turner. they're both as bad as each other actually! and if you don't know your American history, LaLaurie killed slaves, Nat Turner killed slavers. one letter, a universe of difference.

it's also like, comparing an almost certain sexual assailant and pedophile to a probable victim of a sexual assailant and pedophile (or multiple perhaps). which is just wild work, like come on. the fuck are we doing here? seriously we're doing "lesbians evil" in the year of our dark queen 2026?
110
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
also, lets be super real. comparing elizabeth bathory to lizzie borden is like comparing the atom bomb to a coughing baby in every metric there. a woman suspected of murdering entire villages of women versus a woman suspected of murdering two people.
220
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
if it was intentional it'd be kinda fucking sick actually, because I'm honestly all for lesbian interpretations of lizzie borden and elizabeth bathory (who have nothing in common besides their name), hell lets be honest it was probably true on both counts. but I wouldn't call them feminist icons.
110
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
"lizzie borden murdered her mother and father because she was a lesbian" okay, sure, why the fuck not. "also, elizabeth bathory was absolutely a lesbian vampire" HOLD ON A SECOND! "*blares a pop-rock faux-feminist anthem from the 1980s to drive home that feminism drives women to kill*" ...
110
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
wake up babe, they're doing elizabeth bathory slander in the year 2026. every time I walk in on my mother watching one of those awful "monster" netflix true crime dramas, I feel far stupider for it.

Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
in my defense, it was once much more soap opera than children's show. and it seems like a lot of media now days underwent this really weird enshittification where they assume no-one has attention spans so they just overexposit rather than write something more compelling.

Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
the current plot is about the need to unite together and learn the value of friendship so that they can overcome discord- I mean, "the void". and uh, if I'm being real - it was always that. I think I was just imagining a completely alternate reality in my head as cope. disappointing.
140
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
I saw someone compare warcraft's storytelling to my little pony: friendship is magic and I'm honestly a little disappointed in myself I never put two and two together but god damn they're right.

dead internet theory was ironically proven right not by the idea that everyone is bots manufacturing consent for a malicious externality but rather the reality that most of the population has surrendered their critical thinking skills to the malicious externalities. how fun. kill me.

"well actually in Japan, two women interacting considered yuri by some. I will not think about what this might say about them and assume good faith." "look at this funny meme image of two guys who got turned into women lusting after each other! t4t yuri! basically all transbians, amirite?!"
120
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
oh boy, the discourse mines on the yuri subreddits today sure do be mining; "this beloved series isn't pedophilia right? I cannot suspend my disbelief regarding an age gap in an isekai story." "my ninety-five theses on why we need to stop calling things yuri if they don't make out at the end."

my contention is they do it poorly. I also contend that DnD doesn't actually do attrition well, it merely makes fights longer and duller to account for increasingly bloated resources. it is attrition in the sense of a meatgrinder rather than considered use of limited resources.
100
Luci. @transtextual.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
if you're willing to spend the resources, you get what you asked for. it's up to the DM to determine what that actually means - success and failure should be based on the narrative, with the other elements there to gamify things. this is ultimately what dice are meant to do.
