The University of Kansas is barring a trans employee, Siobhán Kirchstein, from using the women's restroom because of SB 244. The law voided trans Kansans' IDs and criminalized using public restrooms that match their gender. Her community's answer? Gender-neutral signage in that very restroom.

The Montana Supreme Court just ruled that trans discrimination IS sex discrimination! They built a constitutional shield around every trans Montanan that the U.S. Supreme Court cannot touch. While Kansas is stripping trans people of their IDs, Montana just drew a hard line in the other direction.

You may have seen headlines about the AG offering a delay in enforcing license penalties and institutional fines until March 26. However, there is still no protection in place. That offer was designed to keep the court from blocking the law. It's not binding - it's a pinky promise...

The law says your license is invalid. The AG says he won't punish anyone until March 26. The DMV system may not reflect either one. Nobody in charge agrees on what's actually happening right now. That confusion is the danger.

If you got a letter from the state:
Avoid driving until the court rules.
Do not surrender your license.

If the court blocks this law, your license may not be voided. Surrendering it eliminates that chance.

The Trump administration has now removed both the pride flag and trans pride flag from the Stonewall National Monument. A year ago, the National Park Service removed all references to LGBTQIA+ figures from the web page on the Stonewall Monument. Now the flags are gone too.
