Mint is very simple and windows-inspired. It has its own strong visual language, managed drivers, and has a built in software store and an updater app to both let you easily find linux applications and update them all (and your system!) at once. Your system only changes it when you change it.

Type sudo nano /etc/fstab to edit the file, and it will open. You'll see multiple partitions listed in a table, add your new partition with the same structure. Partition name first, the mount point second, the filesystem third, options fourth, followed by 0 0.

I personally don't see the appeal of AIOs. Because of how tightly packed they are, you get little to no upgradability like laptops with none of the benefits of portability. Why not get a monitor and a mini pc box? You can even have a setup where the mini PC is mounted behind the monitor.

hey uhh how can a windows update be fucking 77 GIGABYTES???? I turned on my old laptop and just wanted to let it update, and after a quarter hour of not even a percent I checked the cmd line tool and found out the SYSTEM UPDATE IS FUCKING MASSIVE??? WHY????

A terminal window, with the command Get-WindowsUpdate ran. The output lists two updates, a security update for 877 megabytes and a system update for 77 gigabytes.

You can also try using Mainline to install a newer kernel on Mint. after adding its ppa, ppa:cappelikan/ppa, you can apt install mainline and then it gives you both gui and terminal tools for easily installing and managing different versions on the kernel on your system.
