Every thriving community project starts with the same question: Where do we begin? The answer isn't "with the biggest idea." It's by taking the first practical step that brings people together.

Communities don't change all at once. New ideas spread gradually, through relationships, trust, and visible examples. Understanding how change happens can help us engage people where they are, instead of expecting everyone to move at the same pace.

One of the hardest parts of creating change is not having good ideas. It is working well with other people. Groups need to make decisions, navigate differences, resolve conflict, build trust, and keep moving without burning out. None of this happens automatically.

Transition Network International @transition-network.bsky.social · 01/07/2026
Inner transition begins with a difficult question: where does change actually start? Some people begin with action, building projects and transforming systems. Others begin with reflection, asking how our beliefs, emotions, and habits are connected to the crises around us. Transition invites both.

Transition Network International @transition-network.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
Vision is more than a nice image of the future. It is the ability to see, imagine, remember, and plan across time. In moments of crisis, vision helps us move beyond reaction and begin asking what kind of future we want to create, and what role we can play in bringing it closer.

Many of the crises we face today are often presented as separate issues: climate change, migration, inequality, democratic erosion, biodiversity loss. But what if they're all symptoms of the same system? Understanding our global context means learning to see the connections.

Transition Network International @transition-network.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
We are living through overlapping crises—climate breakdown, inequality, economic instability—and many people feel the urgency to act but don't know where to begin. Transition starts with a simple question: What is within our reach right now? Change begins by moving from overwhelm to action.

The internet didn’t always feel like this. There was a time (early 2000s) when it felt more open, more hopeful. Blogs, forums, and early platforms gave people space to publish, connect, and challenge dominant narratives. But something has shifted.
