Strafe is a character seen in IDW2005, originally a normal Camien, she was mutated into a Dinobot by contaminated energon. Her name and double-headed alt mode are references to the Age of Extinction character of the same name. #Transformers

An experiment was attempted by Hasbro during Beast Wars, peppering same character redecoes halfway through waves. Unlike modern attempts, these were running changes, not addressed as any different from the base mold. Prowl and Dinobot 2 were the only attempts. #Transformers

"Septimus Prime" is a seldom remembered 14th Prime who was slain by Megatronus in the IDW05 comics. He was not remembered by history as most of the other Primes didn't like him. #Transformers

In the Japanese G-2 story pages, Megatron seems to mourn a unnamed friend for unknown reasons, eventually, it was revealed this was Megatrons friend Kiloton, whose death at the hands of untrustworthy humans caused a reformed Megatron to re-start the war. #Transformers

Transit is a Decepticon character initially intended to appear in the film Rise of the Beasts. A whole scene of his appearance was nearly completed before he was scrapped. The scene depicting him was removed due to test audiences finding it too dark. #Transformers

Rather famously/infamously, the IDW2005 incarnation of Shockwave is largely responsible for a lot of the major happenings of that continuity, due in no small part to being sent back in time, pretending to be Onyx Prime to influence history. #Transformers

While known as a cassette, Ratbat has been shown to have a background as a full bodied Cybertronian. First seen in Dreamwave, it had more popularity in IDW2005. Ratbat being a full Cybertronian was also seen in Transtech. #Transformers
