hello i shoehorned an Irish-English dictionary into my viet dictionary app (Caukie) because the other ones weren’t updated or really slow. I discard most of Wiktionary’s data atm but I’ll get it in at some point. Just wanted a fast clean way to look up words when studying/in class
a screenshot of a screen of the dictionary application, the text is:

gealacán uibhe noun
gealacán uibhe m (genitive singular gealacáin uibhe, nominative plural gealacáin uibhe)
1. egg white, albumen

okay these aren’t as bad as shows in the genre “white people yelling” but second to that, whisper yelling really like. it hurts my brain somehow. i don’t know what it is. maybe it’s cause it’s creepy? sisko (ds9) and niles (frasier)

oh, so most of the games i made in this era were just light clones of games we wanted to be able to play more than just once a day - but one has a fun twist. infinite Only Connection/NYT Connections styles games based on Wikipedia's data bonus, once you solve them, you can read a snippet!
a four by four grid, each one with the following entries: Mrwhosetheboss, Skibid, Tophet, Postmillenialism, Hyo-rin, Tanaka, Chinese, Apocatastasis, Rickrolling, Do-hee, Kodkod, Tautog, Walrus, Takin, Dispensationalism, Beggin'

Beflow it are 5 buttons: Shuffle, clear, new game, cheat - solve random category, hint - get name of unsolved category.

At the bottom of the screenshot is the text: Wikinnect is inspired by Only Connect and NYT Connections, data comes from the Wikipedia Project. The same as the previous screenshot, exception the entries now feature their secret category:

a four by four grid, each one with the following entries: Mrwhosetheboss - viral videos
Skibidi - viral videos
Tophet - chinese eschatology
Postmillenialism - chinese eschatology,
Hyo-rin - Min ______,
Tanaka - Min ______,
Chinese - Min ______,
Apocatastasis - chinese eschatology,
Rickrolling - viral videos,
Do-hee - Min ______,
Kodkod - IUCN Red List vulnerable species,
Tautog - IUCN Red List vulnerable species,
Walrus - IUCN Red List vulnerable species,
Takin,
Dispensationalism - chinese eschatology,
Beggin' - viral videos

Most of the grid squares now have a Wikipedia font W in their top right corner. The mouse is over the W in the walrus grid item, and a little popup has appeared saying: The walrus (Odobenus rosmarus) is a large pinniped marine mammal with discontinuous distribution about the North Pole in the Arctic Ocean and subarctic seas of the Northern Hemisphere. It is the only extant species in the family Odobenidae and genus Odobenus. This species is subdivided into two subspecies:[3] the Atlantic walrus (O. r. rosmarus), which lives in the Atlantic Ocean, and the Pacific walrus (O. r. divergens), which lives in the Pacific Ocean.

Beflow it are 5 buttons: Shuffle, clear, new game, cheat - solve random category, hint - get name of unsolved category.

At the bottom of the screenshot is the text: Wikinnect is inspired by Only Connect and NYT Connections, data comes from the Wikipedia Project.

like look at this little awkward comment
a description of a bronze sculpture which reads: Degas only exhibited one sculpture during his lifetime. It was modelled on 14-year-old dancer Marie van Goethem. In preparation, the artist sketched her both clothed and naked. He also made this smaller, sculptural study.
It is uncomfortable to acknowledge that young Marie would have stood naked in front of a grown man for this sculpture.

meanwhile the audio tour talks of the man in the most glowing, reifying beautiful genius ways these little meaningless appendixes that aren’t reflected elsewhere in the curation are really meaningless lip service no? why is the audio tour so uncritical?
a picture of a poster at the Discovery Degas exhibition in Glasgow saying:

Degas: Slavery and Antisemitism
Degas was from a racist family and held racist and antisemitic views, which are unacceptable.
The enslavement and suffering of millions of African American people was essential to cotton production.
Degas's maternal grandfather, uncle and brothers exported and sold cotton in New Orleans. His brother René and uncle Michel were key members of the White League, a white supremacy group. Both sides of his family enslaved people.
Degas's strongly antisemitic ideas caused permanent rifts with some of his lifelong friends. The Dreyfus Affair of 1894-1906 scandalised and divided French society, exposing the deep and inexcusable anti-Jewish sentiment of many people.
These topics are part of our public programming for Discovering Degas. See burrellcollection.com for more details.

working on a game to play with my partner, similar to Only Connect/Connections, except there’s not much curation going on (mostly auto generated) so it’s both really complex but also really easy?
a screenshot of a word game with a 4x4 grid of words, the words are: Somalia
Palermo
Velcro
Frisbee
Qualia
Memetics
Florence
Truth
Cellophane
Syria
Zanzibar
Shenyang
Time
Yo-yo
Jordan
Houston

below the grid are four differently coloured buttons labelled Check Answers, Shuffle, Clear and New Gamesimilar to the last picture, except the game has been completed and the four categories are revealed:

Countries and territories where Arabic is an official language
Brands that became generic
Concepts in Epistomology
Capitals of Former Nations

it’s a sky that is about 50% deep dark 3d cumulus clouds, and 50% clear. but what makes it special is these HUGE beams of light reaching in between the gaps of the clouds. it looks like rays of magical divine light, no joke.
