Done it twice. Samp v Brescia, when Baggio was at Brescia, then a Coppa Italia derby a couple of seasons ago. Bit rough round the edges, like many port cities, but great stadium, great Pesto, and a Genoa FC museum (oldest club in Italy)

All three promoted clubs are good stories. All seaside clubs too, if you fancy a holiday. Malaga were OK last night, until Atleti used their bench. Watched all three, and was most impressed with Racing, and the atmosphere was excellent at El Sardinero.

Saying that, I dodged a pair of bullets today. In 🇩🇰 I found channels for four of the six games today, but not Midtjylland vs Brondby, and in 🇹🇿 the Kariakoo derby, the stream on YouTube cut out after 15 minutes. Both games finished 0-0.

Tranmere might be absolutely turgid, but football is still brilliant. Had two screens tonight. Roma 3 Juventus 3 🇮🇹 OM 3 OL 2 🇫🇷 Late drama in both games. You can add the Sevilla derby 🇪🇸 to that as well, where Sevilla earned a remarkable point from 2-0 down.

Close to 250 foreign games, 60+ countries, that was right up there with the best. Proper old school, ramshackle stadium, real fans, beer and football. I say it all the time, jib a shite away game and catch a cheap flight to Europe and catch a game. It's far more fun.

Atletico Madrid in the last week: Beat Barcelona 4-0, it could have been six or seven. Lost 3-0 to an out of form Rayo, deservedly so. Tonight: drew 3-3 at Club Brugge. You really don't know what you'll get with Cholo's team this season.
