What a wonderful walk and talk with historian Paul Brent along the back strand yesterday afternoon. We learned so much about the people who lived there - their homes and gardens, their businesses and the history of the racecourse and golf course. Thank you Paul, for bringing its history to life 👏

Ricky and Pat spent the morning removing broken glass from the sand dunes and checking on the fencing and marram grass. Unfortunately there’s evidence of two small fires, and a lot of the marram has been trampled 🔥 🦶

Our volunteers were busy clearing dock plants around the duck and swan pond on Wednesday. Dock plants grow large and prevent beautiful wildflowers from growing. Don't worry, we've left plenty of dock plants for the birds to feed on 🐦

Ricky's sand dunes team have been hard at work erecting more chestnut fencing 💪 So far the work has proven to be effective, helping to protect vulnerable areas from erosion and allowing the dunes to recover naturally. A big thank you to all involved in this important conservation effort👏👏👏

We had our suncream on for a scorching beach clean yesterday ☀️ It was awful to see all of the rubbish 😔 When you leave the beach, please take your rubbish with you or put it in one of the bins ♻️ Plastic cups, wrappers and cigarette butts don't disappear, they end up in the sea and harm wildlife 🦢🐬🦭🐟

It’s #nationalbiodiversityweek ! Here’s our lovely native Bluebell 🌱 Sadly, it’s threatened with extinction through hybridising with the invasive Spanish bluebell. The native Bluebell is blooming now in Tramore sand dunes but if the leaves are walked on the plant dies. Please help to protect it!
