Multiple people on the train home had the snots, so if I am ill, it won't technically be con crud.

We did go through a phase of sticking Saint George slaying a dragon on money (the five shilling crown, and the sovereign). Which is probably as close as we got to inspirational figures.

Last time I was in Glasgow, I went to see the former headquarters of the SCWS. This time, my trek into the history of the cooperative movement took me back a little further, to the one of the Pioneers inspirations: New Lanark.

An early start to go and be a tourist was definitely a good decision after a weekend of con attendance. Whose tired? I'm not tired! I will not fall asleep on this 9am train!

Crane appreciation.
A shipping crane stands proud over the Clyde. There's some other buildings around it. Those are unimportant.

Ok, FantasyCon, I've been to my last panel. Now what?!

I'm a member (and on the Discord) and it's not really. I worked out what was streaming by being in every panel room and seeing a camera set up in one of them. I should maybe have gone to the First FantasyCon panel!

A Forest, Darkly by @angelaslatter.bsky.social. It's my con/holiday read, and I can be found reading it, sat on the con suite floor, with some tea I forgot to steal milk from the breakfast buffet for.

Three panels attended so far today, and ate a Scotch pie. I've been sitting on chairs for three hours and now I really need to sit on the floor for a bit. Why are chairs?

Look, FantasyCon, some of us are not at all hungover and had a lovely evening watching Farscape, followed by an early night.

Morning Glasgow FantasyCon! I got up slightly earlier so I could sort my hair...or maybe just so I could go to the 9am panels. That sounds more likely.
Photograph of the Clyde some time after sunrise. The horizon is still a bit sunrise-y but it's really not that early. There's a hotel, a shipping crane, and a bridge.

I just go for the panels, and the holiday. I've done entire cons where I haven't had a single conversation with another human and that in itself is kind of nice. I'm just existing among people and there's so many of them, so I disappear.

Actually, nevermind that. Panel 1, 2, and 3 are Jura, Shuna, and Staffa. The other islands remain unaltered.
010
Louise Hughes @trailofleaves.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
However, I can confirm that there are two blocks of panel rooms. One block has Panel 1, 2, and 3 printed out and taped to it. The other block is named after islands, so going back to the original question...both exist and are in separate locations.

1) If you're considering submitting a story -- or are approached to create art for any publications that Must Read Magazines owns, including Asimov's -- walk away. Their current contracts are too predatory and do not suitably value you, your work or your rights. There will be other opportunities. 2/

Shhh go quietly... a little Hedgehog is rustling through your feed. 🥹
A small Hedgehog nestles among a blanket of crisp autumn leaves, peering out with a gentle, curious expression as though happily exploring the woodland floor. Warm golden tones surround its tiny face and spiky coat, creating an irresistibly cosy autumn scene.
