Bought 5 bags of oranges. Peeled and broke into slices. Brought them to the marathon to hand out. Gone in just over 1/2 hr. Amazing how happy a person is to see an orange after running 21 miles.

That might be a regular Ozinga barge, but there are lots of extras at work on the Lake St bridge replacement. There’s a large chunk of new bridge poised to go in - don’t know how we find out what day that happens, but it should be a good show.

Re: Edgewater highrise controversy… Some of the folks on the south side of the Malibu put everything they had into getting that spot. I don’t oppose the new building, but I don’t see any need to mock people for being upset that they’ll lose everything they worked for and treasured.

Things have improved as of Thursday afternoon (8/27). Note that we're working on releasing an upgrade to the site within the next couple of months. It may be more vulnerable to these slow-downs until then.

Until last year, the UIC Digital Collections had an average of around 250,000 requests per month. In November 2025, that went up to 62,168,279 requests. We've been trying various strategies to protect the site from AI bots but it takes constant adjustment. www.glamelab.org/products/are...

Unfortunately, the UIC Library Digital Collections platform is still having issues. We're still working with our vendor to resolve the problem. This issue is usually owing to the site being aggressively scraped for content by AI bots.
