Dragon Masters fan Mia came to visit me at the Dragon Wagon yesterday and gave me this Worm and Drake she made from pipe cleaners. Isn’t it cool? Thanks, Mia!

In my opinion it’s the Chroma because the Chroma is despair, and without hope all is lost. Glad you enjoyed the books!

Authors Against Book Bans @authorsabb.bsky.social · 16/01/2024

Our Mission Statement:

We stand united against the deeply unconstitutional movement to limit the freedom to read. We unequivocally support the availability of diverse voices on our library shelves, in our schools, and in our culture. We pledge to band together against the oppression of literature, to speak when our voices are silenced, to go where our bodies are needed, and to fight as one to ensure this freedom. Together, we shall be fearless.

Our concern is not only for the books themselves, but for the children, families, educators, librarians, and communities that suffer when the freedom to read is challenged and taken away. We abhor the bias of the current organized attempt to censor books in schools and libraries across our nation, particularly because of these efforts’ insidious targeting of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ stories, erasure of history, and silencing of voices that speak truthfully about essential human experiences. The great power of literature is its ability to create empathy, foster self-empowerm

Interesting read. But it’s more than just bypassing, right? It’s also sharing the correct information, just not in direct response to the false info.

I am so excited to announce my new series coming out this fall in collaboration with illustrator Carolina Vasquez! Dragon Hill is part of the Scholastic Acorn line of books for emergent readers ages 4-7. This series is set in the Dragon Masters world but the main characters are young dragons.

When I'm not writing, my husband and I operate a mobile indie bookstore in rural NY and we each kid who visits us gets one book for free. My niece created the art for our book bus and this is a limited-time fundraiser to help us stock our shelves for next year. dckr.shop/the_dragon_wagon/shop/home
