A look down the Alcantara Gorges, Sicily. This is a natural basalt canyon formed from a historic eruption of Mt Etna in which the lava flowed into the Alcantara River where the lava rapidly cooled forming these columns, over the years the river has eroded a deep, narrow canyon through the formations

A night scene outside the Duke of York, Belfast looking down a cobbled alleyway with illuminated pub buildings either side of it.
People are congregating outside, both sat on benches and stood up.
There are umbrellas suspended above the alleyway. These are different single colours - red, yellow, green, blue and lilac.
At the front top of the picture there is a red neon sign with the words "There's only seven types of rain in Belfast - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday..."

Blackberry-Picking by Seamus Heaney: Late August, given heavy rain and sun For a full week, the blackberries would ripen At first, just one,a glossy purple clot Among others, red, green, hard as a knot. You ate that first one and its flesh was sweet #nature #poetry #photography #eastcoastkin See Alt Text
A close up of some blackberries on a bush. Four of them are black and fully ripened. Another two are not ripe, one green and one red. The background is slightly blurred and consists of green leaves and branches of the blackberry bush. There is blurred blue sky and clouds behind the bush.
What follows isHere is the poem Blackberry-Picking by Seamus Heaney.
(13 April 1939 – 30 August 2013) He was an Irish poet, playwright and translator. He received the 1995 Nobel Prize in Literature.
Blackberry-Picking:
Late August, given heavy rain and sun
For a full week, the blackberries would ripen.
At first, just one, a glossy purple clot
Among others, red, green, hard as a knot.
You ate that first one and its flesh was sweet
Like thickened wine: summer's blood was in it
Leaving stains upon the tongue and lust for
Picking. Then red ones inked up and that hunger
Sent us out with milk cans, pea tins, jam-pots
Where briars scratched and wet grass bleached our boots.
Round hayfields, cornfields and potato-drills
We trekked and picked until the cans were full,
Until the tinkling bottom had been covered
With green ones, and on top big dark blobs burned
Like a plate of eyes. Our hands were peppered
With thorn pricks, our palms sticky as Bluebeard's.
We hoarded the fresh berries in the byre.
But when the bath was filled we found a fur,
A rat-grey fungus, glutting on our cache.
The juice was stinking too. Once off the bush
The fruit fermented, the sweet flesh would turn sour.
I always felt like crying. It wasn't fair
That all the lovely canfuls smelt of rot.
Each year I hoped they'd keep, knew they would not.

A black and white view at a stone harbour. There is a wooden boat on its side and a stone building to the right of it.
The boat is "Visions of a Harbour Past," a public art installation by Stephen Broadbent located at Whitehaven Harbour in Cumbria, England.
The artwork features a boat-like structure with glass panels containing historical images of Whitehaven's past, particularly focusing on the town's maritime heritage and the local Rocket Brigade.
The building to the right of the boat is the former headquarters of the town's Rocket Brigade.
Whitehaven Volunteer Rocket Brigade was formed in 1849. The volunteers would haul their equipment to the coast where a ship was in distress. Rockets attached to a line were fired over the vessel, and then a much heavier cable could be drawn across, allowing the use of a Breeches buoy system to rescue passengers and crew.
