Digger is a work of art, a real cult classic. I can see why the trailers are cut the way they are; they cannot tell the full story without revealing the film's layers and spoiling it.

It reminds me of big swings like The Adventures of Baron Munchausen by Terry Gilliam. Wildly ambitious, utterly bonkers, and the world is richer for its existence.

I don’t know how Iñárritu can pass this off as a GenZ movie though, I can see what he was thinking but that was a misfire. It’s more than that.

I'm still glad this movie exists and that Iñárritu and Cruise took a punt on it. In a world where every film feels like a safe bet for an instant box office weekend return, Digger gives it the bird. I honestly don't think Cruise thought this would break any records or even break even at the box office, despite his pulling power. I think he knew this film would play the long game and get people talking about it long after it's gone from the big screen.

That's how I feel about Digger. You can't define it unless you've seen it. And the messages are subtle, layered and crystal clear all at the same time. Sure, it's got some inconsistencies and niggles, but what movie hasn't?

Plus, Maggie the Cat is the real star of the movie.

Do yourself a favour, go see it, not for Tom Cruise but to make sure this kind of ballsy filmmaking can still happen. Because now that Skydance has so much control over Hollywood, it could be a long time before Warner Bros. releases another like it.

Everyone will focus on the box office bombing, and that’s a real injustice.

Thinking about all the IP sitting in limbo that’ll most likely never see the light of day again because they aren’t deemed profitable. This is hell.

“You see this…it's worthless. Ten dollars from a charity shop in the street. But I take it, I bury it in the sand for a thousand years, it becomes priceless...like the Ark…”

There’s been a lot of noise about Capcom’s use of AI in #gamedev and most of it caused by moron “journalists” aiming for clickbait rather than facts. As always, the devil is in the detail and context matters.

There’s a box in the corner of the bedroom with a blanket in it. It’s the last place Ruby slept in before she passed. It’s been almost a year now, and it’s the first time I’ve been able to bring myself to think about putting it away. Crying like a sad old fuck typing this.

This is AAA’s Golden Hour from a medical sense. It’s everyone else’s Golden Hour from the perspective of spectacular, newborn creative opportunity. The trick then is not to make the same mistakes. Go swim in a blue ocean, don’t drown in a red pond. #gamedev

Just watched Star Trek TMP for the Nth time and during the Ilia Probe scene where she’s examined by McCoy under a medical scanner it hit me that those records could have been used by Noonien Soong to further his research into creating Data and Lore.

Apparently, the new Star Trek movie promises to be “the darkest one yet” and I can’t help but wonder whether the writers have ever watched any Star Trek aside from Wrath of Khan…
