Don't know why I get so annoyed by actors in films & TV carrying and waving around clearly very light empty cups that are supposed to be full of hot coffee or tea but it really bugs me...just put water in them or something, or weight with stones to aid the drink acting. Irrational rage of the day 😂

Big trim for the Mulberry tree this week. Not much will go to waste. Leaves stripped to bag and make leaf mulch, branches kept to make plant supports, logs will make the habitat at the back of my new pond for Frogs and others.

Photos show green Mulberry leaves, a large pile of straight branches and a pile of logs.

Sunset at 7, my long summer evenings in the garden are over, but it's lovely to welcome autumn.

Trees are silhouetted against a bright sunset, with orange, yellow, pink and blue colours clear.

The Holly bush is amazing this year, can't wait for the hundreds of berries to turn red, bet the birds can't wait either. The old original trunk is an insect habitat now, the bush is formed from new growth that surrounds it.

Photo shows a very large Holly bush covered in spiky leaves and hundreds of orange berries. The second photo shows an old Holly trunk now cracked and open.

Lovely to walk around Inner Temple Garden during Open House Week. I have often walked past and wished I could go in. A beautiful garden, with lots of work being done around biodiversity, in the centre of London right by the river thames.

Photos show mature planting in front of historic buildings, including a long walk of Plane trees.

I thought all my Passion Flowers had died during the drought, lots of shrivelled brown buds, so was delighted today to find a small string of survivors flowering.

Photo shows a close up of a Passion Flower, colours are lime, dark purple, mid purple white, yellow and cream

Saved a Stag Beetle from the visiting Cat today. So pleased to see one in the garden as they are categorised as nationally scarce now. They love dead wood so a log pile in your garden really helps them.

Photo shows a large male Stag Beetle. Distinctive red horns come from the black head and abdomen. The back of the Beetle is also burgundy red.
