i’m like a one man theatre show. involuntarily out loud scripting and rehearsing for personal betrayals i made up in my head in case they happen so i can be emotionally prepared

living in my brain is crazy. one minute i’m noticing a new mole and the next minute i’m artfully crying after practicing telling people in my life i have terminal cancer. not even anxious just lost in the hypothetical

-the "it's a weapon, isn't it?" "yes" exchange being about a cell phone when communication & community in empowering others is the big takeaway from the full season arc - "in the end we all are who we are, no matter how much we appear to have changed."

000

al 🪐 they/she/he @townfool.bsky.social · 26/07/2025

-"we're going back to the beginning" foreshadowing the villain "The First" & letting us know the writers are going to be revisiting the roots of the show (sunnydale high, hellmouth) & roots of character arcs. (which we will see particularly in selfless, lies my parents told me, & chosen)

100

al 🪐 they/she/he @townfool.bsky.social · 26/07/2025

like season 7: -opens half way across the world to establish the breadth and scale of the season being larger. -e1 being called "lessons" when it's a season about imparting wisdom and mentorship. -"who's got the power?" "it's about power" lines bookmarking the ep. considering how the season ends

100

al 🪐 they/she/he @townfool.bsky.social · 26/07/2025

people cannot fathom on a first watch through of buffy how GOOD the writing of every single premiere is as a "thesis statement" for the themes of the season. truly no show before or since has ever met the bar the same way

not letting cringe rule my life most powerful thing to ever happen to me. but it also means accepting the cringe as it forms a little pile in the back of my mind. [to self] yes u did say that bestie. yes u will have to relive it all week. & what. cant change it now. move on. do something else cringe

if we’re looking for ttrpg ones i fear most of the ones i’ve listened to are fairly big (e.g naddpod, dndads) i quite liked warding bond, too, but they don’t update very regularly.
