With all the Grateful Dead shows available, the only reason to pay money for anything from ‘84 is if you were there, or enjoy the sound of Garcia killing himself.

Absolutely phenomenal show by David Rawlings and Gillian Welch last night. Perhaps the best presentation of Dead music I have ever seen. Amazing show. L

Bailey wrote a great book about improvisation. A must read for any musician. Features a little Jerry, too.

The great, unheralded Bob Weir. Thank you so much for the music, and all of the heart and soul and effort you put into your craft. One time I played Black Throated Wind in an empty bar and a dude threw $ in my jar , nodded his head and just said “Bobby”. Thank you 🙏 m.youtube.com/watch?v=OaAc...

Touring in Germany, Denmark, etc has kept the perpetual immature teenager inside of me alive for years.

I would be remiss if I didn’t share Patti Smith doing her rendition of “Black Peter”, complete with a belch in the middle, but I can’t find the audio.

Seen the Grateful Dead movie so many times. It was a blast to watch it on IMAX and the sound was great. The Dead at the height of their creative powers.

Happy Birthday to the late Grateful Dead piano player Keith Godchaux, who was a genius. The first record he played on was Ace, and Christgau described him as a cross between “Jerry Lee Lewis and Chick Correa.” He was a pioneer and an important piece to the sound we know as the Grateful Dead.

I was feeling inspired by the nature around my house and felt the urge to write a tune about it: Regular Magnolia Blossoms blooming Something something And I don’t care

It’s considered one of the best Dead shows ever and the best Scarlet>Fire by many Deadheads. It’s not the best show or best Scarlet>Fire of the 77 Spring tour. But it’s still a pretty damn fun listen!

Modern NBA can be really hard to watch sometimes. The world’s best players and they’re just launching brick after brick.

A little Grateful Dead adjacent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame news, with induction of Nicky Hopkins. Played on many of the Kinks records, some Stones, and countless others. Also, a member of the original Jerry Garcia Band.

I’ve never shared a mock draft publicly before, but what the hell. I’m anti-establishment, stubborn, and driven by logic.
