Jayvik fancomic. Title: separation anxiety. Panel 1: after an emergency procedure, viktor is pushed on a wheelchair by a vintage nurse. They reach a waiting room. Panel 2: jayce rises suddenly from his seat, stiff as a board. He’s holding something, and viktor gasps. I- jayce, is that for me? Panel 3: a tomato-red jayce is revealed to be holding a large bouquet of pink flowers. I didn’t know what to get you, and the doc said… no sweets until tuesday! So i got you the inoffensive option. To his side, viktor snorts a huge incredulous laugh. He’s delighted. Jayce bristles further and says, you can’t be upset! Next panel, he bows his head shyly. I… I am really, really glad you’re alright, viktor. He offers the flowers to his partner, continuing. To your health, I hope you’re my partner for many more years. Viktor smiles as he reaches over. He touches jayce’s wrist with both hands on his way to pick up the flowers and allows himself to linger. Jayce looks on the verge of tears. The colors of the art simplify, touchy feely pastel pink. Viktor says thank you, jayce. This is, ah, a very considerate gesture. Like you. I’m not planning to go anywhere else, anytime soon, alright? Jayce breaks and begins sniffing. He hides his flooding eyes behind his palm. Viktor slips a thumb beneath his gem bracelet and tugs, keeping them together.

Page 2. A row of 3 panels. Viktor holds the ball of pink flowers to his chest and averts his gaze. A quiet beat, then he says… may you wheel me to my room now? Er, people are staring. Panel 2, chibi jayce flaps his crying face on his elbow like a washing machine to dry out the tears. Panel 3; cartoonishly disheveled and with his face all puffy, he throws a thumbs up at viktor, making himself sparkle. Yes! Jayce says, on it, partner!

Page 3: a single, silent panel, of a blushing viktor bowing his head into his flowers, and taking a flustered sniff. He’s pink, just like them.

Panel 2, a close up of a terrified chibi jayce, sweating. holding the blankets around his head. he is deathly afraid viktor is here to catch him breaking the law, and refuses to answer to his cajoling. from the left, viktor's intrusive speech bursts in. jayce. i know you can hear me. caption on the bottom reads: in this AU, viktor switched his focus to medicinal research, so he is a volunteer doctor at the prison some nights.

Page 17, panels 1, 2, 3. The impact of the explosion ricochets; pieces of stray wood and metal splinter in the air. Lucian braces himself, trying to cover his face with his arm. jayce cowers with his hands above his head and his knees pushed up, trying to make a ball with his body. Viktor’s body stiffens. A feeling like a lightning bolt zaps through his spine and breaks his concentration. Full body lock down. It’s as if somewhere, elsewhere, a little cog bounces on the floor. Panel 4; the aftermath of the destruction. The prison bars that haven’t been ripped from the cell are twisted beyond usefulness. White smoke fills the little pirate ship corridor, all that dust with nowhere to go. A humongous black hole has been punched into the opposite wall, breaking the structure of the ship and going into the next room over. From a corner, jayce peeks between his fingers, eyes comically large. Viktor braces himself on a wall, his back to the audience. He’s trembling. Lucian hurries up to the middle of the scene with his hands up, a sign of peace. Obviously alarmed, he declares; I come in peace! The room creaks some more, pieces falling from above. Panels 5, 6: darkness. Then, a light flickers from the depths. Panel 7: lucian’s hand uses a long flame stick to burn the tip of a candle. Forgive those bad manners of mine, he says. Panel 8; the candle burns alive. Lucian’s voice, explaining; I had to wait until she left. End of page.

Page 18. Panel 1. Viktor and Jayce sit on a fancy sofa right in front of a set of large blue windows. They are in the captain’s private room. Viktor has his arms crossed, a stern angry expression on his face. She, he spits, following lucian’s speech. You mean the hag. Jayce, who sits by his side, laughs nervously at this choice of words, a hand on his partner’s shoulder, playing peacekeeper. On the foreground, lucian sighs deeply, bowing his head and reaching out with a hand to hold his pirate hat. After a pause, he says: her name is nami, yes. She’s difficult. Panel 2; I can be difficult myself, when the weather calls for it. With his ghostly right hand, lucian makes his hat disappear into seamist. Panel 3; the captain sits on a high backed chair, crossing his legs. A firepit roars to life behind him. He says - so, on to second introductions. My name is lucian, and i am looking for my wife. We may have gotten off on the wrong boot, but… I would greatly appreciate your help. Panel 4. Lucian’s soft words hang in the air. Viktor looks like he wants to be hearing anything else. Visible frustration courses past his shoulders, mouth scrunched up in distaste. Jayce maintains a hand on his side, looking a bit more exhausted himself. End of page.

More THE NICE GUYS doodles. It came out 10 years ago this week. It was the first movie I saw in theatres after moving to Chicago, which means I moved to Chicago 10 years ago, and I feel very normal about that. Anyway if we can't get a sequel can I have money to draw their further adventures.

PAGE 8. Panel 1: Viktor talks. Most creatures have liquid minds. They bury information under layers of abstraction. Say, for instance… the lyrics of a song that won’t leave their head, or what they’re planning to have for supper that evening. A dumb mistake they made years ago. The lingering taste of ash. The color of a party dress. His words sit above the fish alien waitress from earlier, as she skillfully balances two new platters of food on rollerskates. She’s jamming to a song. Panel 2, his narration continues. They leave a very strong impression, but not a lot of concrete data. You have to sift through piles of noise. In this panel, three piles of dirty dishes sit by a foaming sink. Panel 3 & 4. Here is what Viktor knows with certainty. They are in Evenmoor, a fringe city in the Demaxian empire. Runeterra does not exist in this galaxy. Given that fact, he’s uncertain of what relation it has to the Demacia back home. In these panels, jayce and viktor stroll outside the space station, walking up to a lonesome glass domed pier at the edge. It’s positioned right above a huge, round, flaming star. Jayce walks with his cane and stops near it to point and chatter about the view, seeming like an excited child. Viktor accompanies him. Panel 5, a large map unfolds at the bottom of the page with a complex space diagram, depicting orbits, meteor belts, planets, the sun, and floating stars. Two decorative hands reach for each other at the top and the bottom, only not meeting because right in the middle of the map a black hole has burst open, swirling with motes of light. Narration. They could be the first men to experience interdimensional travel. Visiting mirror worlds. But then again, it seems too early to write this down as a discovery. Viktor’s powers continue to operate in seemingly unpredictable ways. End page.

PAGE 9. Panel 1, narration. One night, they may walk around the stars, arguing about the particulars of spaceships… in this panel, jayce and viktor are hunched over a cumbersome electric station that can be accessed via keyboard. The holographic screens display little colorful windows as jayce taps away, viktor leaning on his shoulder and talking his ear off about something. They’re not breaking any new ground, but its a distraction. Right next to them, some levels down, a spaceship hangar fusses over a big metal bus. Its the Morning Star ship, from the Odyssey league of legends universe. Panel 2, viktor’s eye catches on a sudden motion behind him. It looks like a long rope of hair. Someone’s making a lot of noise. Panel 3; viktor turns around and freezes. He’s faced with an alternate universe jinx, her long braid whooping in the air while she cackles and hoots at a bulking mountain of an alien named malphite, her best friend in this dimension. The words in her speech bubbles are replaced by drawings of stars, tornadoes, and flowers. One of her arms was blasted off, and she wears a robot prosthetic in place of it. Neither of these far off figures notice viktor at all. Panel 4. On the foreground, viktor curls his lip. On the background, a completely unaware jayce spots something in the opposite direction and smiles wide, saying; hey, is that a hotel? Lucky! Maybe we’ll sleep easy after all. Panel 5, the distance heightens. Jayce, almost disappearing in the horizon, calls out for a viktor who’s not walking beside him. V, are you coming? Viktor silently turns away from the alternate-universe jinx and follows behind jayce. Panels 6, 7, 8: narration. Black squares, white letters. Only to wake up the very next morning soaked to the bone, not a second wiser, nor safer, than they were at the beginning. In these panels, a pirate ship rocks dangerously among the dark and stormy ocean. Not a sailor in sight. The sky is pitch black. Viktor runs to the end of the deck and grips …

The panel depicts him hugging Jayce tightly, stuffing his arms inside the jacket, his leg between jayce’s, burying his head on his partner’s chest. For his part, jayce seems so deeply asleep he does not stir at the contact. Panel 2, an image of a piltovan toy knight with his head ripped from his shoulders. Its body scatters on a table uncomfortably, lying on a puddle of oil that looks like blood. Those are viktor’s thoughts plaguing him. What if. What if? Panel 3, pure black fading into gray. Narration. Exhausted, Viktor drifts away with a promise. Panel 4, the last one, is framed by darkness and snow blowing in chunks from outside the page. Baby jayce, trapped in the snowstorm, is seen screaming help from afar. Viktor’s promise is as follows: I won’t let you come to harm. End page.

Page 14. This page is made up of 6 symmetrical panels, no words. Starting from the top, they all depict viktor from the back, his face cut off frame. I think this season will focus both on the Pandemonium AU thematic but also on canon Vayne... Maybe they'll parallel each other like Yone and Spirit Blossom Yone, who knows? But like them, they won't be the same 'character' I'm sure it won't be confusing :v
