Your music is what we use to calm our pets and ourselves. The love that you have given to countless children through so many programs like the Imagination Library won't ever be forgotten. And the care, grace, and support that you have given to LGBTQ+ children and adults can never be matched.

Disappointed in the results of tonights vote, but I guess that's how government works. When the citizens tell you that there is an issue and that something needs changed, you just ignore them and say 'just trust us'.

Unfortunately Delavan is not Pekin, but they both are Tazewell County. It still affects our city. Plus the citizens of Delavan have already said no. I will be at every county meeting until it is guaranteed gone. I will fight every data center, even if it means standing in front of the bulldozers.

Zoey Carter @tothatzoey.net · 08/08/2026

I am running on a common sense platform, and the one big ghoul that we are fighting is the prevalence of data centers. We need them banned and kicked to the curb. And that's what I plan on doing when elected to the council.

Are you ready for a city council that works for you? Then let's make that happen. Let's make our government work for us. Vote Zoey Carter for Pekin City Council this upcoming April.

Democrats deliver, because they believe that a government should work for you, not for corporations. Lets continue that by re-electing JB Pritzker, and electing Democrats like Paul Nolley and Nicole Dopler!

Prior to his inauguration in 2019, Illinois had a Republican governor, a faltering economy, a decreasing population, and two years without a budget.

So I learned something super cool today. The inspiration for Dorothy (yes, THAT Dorothy) is actually buried right here in Central Illinois! Her name was Dorothy Gage and there is currently a wooden statue of her and Toto that is to be replaced with a Bronze statue! How cool.

Hey Central Illinois! Join us at the Jukebox Comedy Club on Saturday, July 25th for a night that you don't want to miss! I saw this quote used by an individual that I look up to a few days ago, and it truly encapsulates my feelings on this nation. Its the greatest nation, but its a nation with faults. Faults that we have a responsibility to call out as Americans.

Zoey Carter @tothatzoey.net · 08/07/2026

"I love America more than any other country in the world, and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually." - James Baldwin

Zoey Carter @tothatzoey.net · 04/07/2026

I did it because I was and still am proud of this nation. The people and the land weave a story of the American dream. A dream of opportunity, of second chances. We have a lot to fix; there is no sugar coating it. But I know the days ahead are brighter than ever. Happy Independence Day America.

000

Zoey Carter @tothatzoey.net · 04/07/2026

Today, with only 53% of Americans stating they are proud to be an American, it can feel like that promise of a bright future is in peril. But three years ago, when I was called upon to become a public servant, I didn’t accept that call because I wanted to divide folks.

100

Zoey Carter @tothatzoey.net · 04/07/2026

And as I graduated from high school during the financial collapse at the end of the decade, we had the promise of change on the horizon. The world looked brighter than ever, and we were proud of our wonderful nation.

As a child born in the 90’s, I was born into a strong economy, a democratic president, and a $1.85 Big Mac from Mickey D’s. As I was coming of age in the 2000’s, I witnessed the rise of the smartphone, the electric car, and an attack on NYC that would bring the nation together like never before.

I truly do not see another governor fighting as hard as our own J.B. for Trans rights, especially Black Trans women. And for the rights of all Illinoisans. When we fight, we win. And we are f*cking fighting. www.threads.com/@jbpritzker/...

I know there are trans people right now, wondering if anyone is going to stand up for their simple right to exist. Well, I am.

041

Zoey Carter @tothatzoey.net · 30/06/2026

To all of the trans folks, whether you live in Chicago, Pekin, or Bishop Hill, just know that you are loved, protected, and welcomed. Illinois was on the frontline of the first civil rights movement, and we will be leading this one. And I will be standing in front.

On this day fifty-seven years ago, a group of friends gathered in a little bar in NYC, unaware that they would become the catalyst for a movement. A movement of equality and love. Happy Stonewall Day. (Photo from 2025 Chicago Pride Parade)

I'm a Democrat because I want to see everyone prosper. Not because I want to be blindly obedient. I will continue working with the Democrats. But if we don't change, we will continue to lose.

000

Zoey Carter @tothatzoey.net · 25/06/2026

The Democrats biggest enemy isn't the far right. It's ourselves. I don't hate the democratic party. I hate what a good chunk of the party has become. People want solutions. Solutions for jobs. Solutions for more money in their pockets. Solutions for health and safety. And solutions for housing.

100

Zoey Carter @tothatzoey.net · 25/06/2026

If democrats want to just keep losing, they'll keep on trying to convince voters that they are the alternative to the Republicans, instead of telling the voters that we have tangible solutions to our problems.

100

Zoey Carter @tothatzoey.net · 25/06/2026

If the Democrats want to keep losing rural America, they'll continue to ignore what voters want. If the Democrats want to keep losing urban America, they'll keep holding onto the liberal old men like Schumer and Jeffries instead of candidates for the working folks.

100

Zoey Carter @tothatzoey.net · 25/06/2026

A party is the foundation of a movement, not the movement itself. If we don't get candidates willing to call out our own party in order to progress it further, then it will cease.

100

Zoey Carter @tothatzoey.net · 25/06/2026

I don't want to be part of a party that requires blind obedience. A party that wants the easy way forward. I don't want a party that refuses nominations because "Those people are too backwards to vote for us"

Unfortunately, from medication to co-pays, clothing, and boarding, healthcare is incredibly expensive to take care of. All I am asking is for a little help to cover these costs. Anything that is not used will be donated at the end of this journey. 💜 gofund.me/7d56c8964

Did you know? The Society for Human Rights, the first LGBTQ rights group in the US, was founded in 1924 by a Henry Gerber in Chicago He created it specifically with inspiration of Magnus Hirschfield and his work.

A very good friend asked me where I wanted to end up in my career. Not where I'll be in 5 years, or what I am doing next, but how I will retire. If I could give one piece of advice to myself three years ago when I started, and to other queer people getting into politics now, is exactly that.
