2-1! L in finals. Probably my favorite deck/draft of the weekend! VERY strong Izzet spells package, backed by my godsend late pack 2 Arclight Phoenix. This deck was so explosive, lost in a VERY tight finals to a Philly buddy playing Dearly Departed. Our capacity to kill each other was each insane!

Draft 4: Redemption! John Clara's "Companion to the Graveyard" Cube. This was a ton of fun, and despite the rules modification, a great end-of-weekend palate cleanser for all the wild shit we were up to in the other drafts. Very strong decks, strong mana bases, interesting "more normal" interactions

1-2; "Turns of Magic" count: G1: 1 G2: 1 G3: 0 G4: 1 G5: 0 G6: 5!!! G7: 0 (I won) Cerebral Vortex was my MVP by a lot. The best solution to someone winning the game immediately is to punish them for doing so, turns out! Lost a few games before I took a turn, but also won on turn 0, so fair's fair!

Draft 3: Synesthesia! @dvdsn.bsky.social's CRAZY rules-mod project, Dream Halls emblem, 0 lands, no cuts. I got Yugioh flashbacks watching these turns play out!! With the exception of one game which went long, I played a total of ~4 turns of Magic. Lots of turn 1 wins and crazy stuff flying around!

Cube 2: Cavalier! Continuing my Medieval Grand Tour, @worklifevalue.bsky.social's Cavalier provided an experience I would describe as ELD Masters +. It was really interesting to see two totally blind cubes/designers lean into similar aesthetics and cards, but come out substantially different.

for the players on the 5-Color Domain Peasant Uprising plan! First picks Leyline Binding/Prismatic Ending pull me in a strong direction despite the blind cube lists, along with all the Dominaria tapped dual lands. I went 2-1, losing in game 3 of the finals. Last Stand was, in fact, so tight.

Yes! Had it on board only once. Opponent scooped before Brago connected- not sure if it was to "presenting at least 6 more tokens on the one trigger (ghost, horse)" or to "oh no that's infinite". I actually only realized I could do it when it was on the board in front of me, which was SWEET to find!

Final round on Sunday- A Brooding Saga! This is the first cube I've drafted twice at events - I knew I needed the runback after BCP. 1-1-1. Assembled crazy engines, drew a round to time, won the Jeskai mirror, got smoked by UB control (that guy also won the whole tournament - very well deserved!)

2-1 in @anthony.luckypaper.co's Regular Cube! Drafted 45 cards of BR War Crimes. Flooded out a bit in the finals, but mostly slammed everyone I played. Felt very seen by the selection of cards being 1:1 with "the exact subset of Retail Limited I've played in my lifetime". Big Baltimore 2-1 hours😌

A++ job, top to bottom, on everything from the card choices+ tasteful foils to the box, info packets, and general presentation- everything was SO cohesive and dripping with style. Really sent me out with a lot to think about in terms of a "total package"of a cube. Had a blast!!

Draft 5: Rounded up some buddies old and new to play my own Mardu Desert cube, Last Stand of the Khans, for some quick freeplay before driving back home. Stress tested "how mono red can I go in a desert cube" and promptly got my ass kicked. It was so tight. The new Khan of the Mardu is ELESH NORN!
