I'm currently working my the next project for the chicken coop: a proper nest box setup. I bought a $10 coffee table from a guy on FB Marketplace, and my plan has been to sand & paint it, then outfit it with a rod for nest box curtains. Step one complete!

Y'all, stop snotting about why Americans don't hang their laundry to dry, since it's summer and our clothes-drying weather is so wonderful. It's been like this for over a week--at 90 degrees! My clothes would not be dry, though they might be perfectly poached.

While Bree is working in her garden, I'm going to be doing a shed-to-coop conversion! A semi-retired gentleman built my last coop, and there were certain things I always wished were a bit different. So this is my chance to set it up exactly the way I want it!

It's been a full-on WORK DAY over here today. Bunch of yard work, including cutting saplings and grubbing roots, because we live in the WOODS woods. Also sifted five gallons of ready compost for @mostlybree.kitrocha.com's garden. But first I had to build a sift screen.

The baby chicks are doing well. Watching two of the sixteen carefully right now because they're trying to develop pasty butt on me. Pro tip: every baby, no matter what species, gets big mad when you try to clean its butt.
