I know it didn't fall in the window being investigated, but the Haaland transfer was always the one that stank to me (like made the pattern clear) - no way on earth the deal was so quick, easy and cheap for that player at that moment - just patently obvious back-door energy to that whole thing.

Pretty different tbh - Nier is a lot weirder and more irreverent, the gameplay is a lot closer to 3d bullet hell, bends genres a lot, and is less taxing. Still really good, just v different

1) Games are a pass time and a hobby but in the same way art can make you view the world in a new way, or sport can form indelible bonds between people, theey can have a major impact on people's lives. 2) When I thought about it, I took it to mean "games which shaped my taste in games"...

Gonna post through it huh? I think the thing is, your first post did two things: 1) belittled the artistic merit of games - calling it just a hobby 2) took a broad over-reading of the post format - taking "shaped me" to mean 'defined my whole personality' I think youve gone too far along both axes

I think proscribing other people finding meaning in experiences, based on your personal view, is pretty narrow minded. If art, culture and shared experience (all things which can describe games) aren't sufficient to shape people, what do you think is? Labour? Suffering? People can be shaped by joy.

This sucks and I'm very sorry to hear it. My 6 year relationship a few years ago, and my honest advice is to spend a few years by yourself. Learn who you are alone now, because you will have changed. Don't seek love from others till you can give it to yourself. Spend time on hobbies, find peace.

Absolutely great movie. If you've not seen it, and trigger warning for COVID lockdown stuff if that's sensitive for you, Ben Wheatley's 'In the Earth' scratches a similar folk horror itch (although slower and more abstract) - kind of blew me away and hit a similar gut-level horror/dread.
