first time seeing one of these four-quadrant charts that i actually enjoyed. not sure if it's a "bisexual perfume," but i really enjoy carlen parfums's "butch femme," which smells like pho (the vietnamese soup) substack.com/home/post/p-...
A screenshot of a Substack post. It says:

"the tasteful twink

i surveyed 12,000 bisexuals—these are the most bisexual perfumes

The notoriously neurotic sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw once described bisexuality as a layover on the way to Gaytown. “When did the sexes get all confused?” she lamented after a bi boy sent her into a self-righteous straight girl spiral. Such a sentiment would surely land Carrie in public relations purgatory today, but this was the early aughts, when sexual fluidity was a foreign concept to everyone except Samantha Jones and every bottle of perfume was assigned a sex at birth."A four-quadrant chart with fem to masc on the x-axis and girl to boy on the y-axis. There are a bunch of fragrances scattered throughout depending on whether people think it's fem-girl, masc-girl, fem-boy, or masc-boy

Mail Day: Amir Khusrau's poems have arrived! I just took a peek before diving in properly, and the beautiful verses immediately made me swear I'd go all in on learning Persian so I could read them in the original text.

Hello #PortfolioDay! I'm saving making a new post for the next one, but I'll advertise on this thread what I'm currently offering for medical funds. Will add to it over time with originals, but feel free to inquire about any traditional piece. Digital ethereal portrait (human or animal) — £110
Four ethereal portraits: Dietrich from Fire Emblem in golden light, Dolly Parton in a magical blue, a dog in autumnal tones and serval in gold and teal.

I actually don't blame people who don't want to be friends with NDs. Not everyone has the patience when life is already overwhelming enough. On the bright side, I've made lots of new friends through sculpting workshops, and even made plans to run a booth at an art festival this winter together!

I can see now how wrong that whole situation was... I actually wonder if they ever really considered me a friend to begin with. Truly glad I no longer have to pretend to be someone I'm not.

I recently (about a year ago?) fell out with a friend who had been a great source of inspiration to me. But the whole time, I had to pretend I was “normal” because they had made it clear that they didn’t want to interact with neurodivergent people because we were... “sick” (which we aren't, btw!)

I still think of my AuDHD as a curse that makes life full of troubles, but at least autism has given me the gift of being able to spot patterns and structures in almost anything, from visual forms to language... something I’d gladly trade for neurotypicality if given the choice.

...which brings me right back to Hindi films. It’s hit me hard all over again that those beautiful poetic lyrics are written in Hindi, but also rich with Persian vocabulary and expressions (possibly many of which are shared with Urdu). So basically I’m back to square one: being an Indian film fan😅

There’s a bittersweet joy in it all, along with an appreciation for beauty and wine... I can’t help but see a kind of resilience in a culture shaped by centuries of trade, with people navigating deserts, facing bandit attacks and wars...

Beginning to notice a recurring theme in Omar Khayyam's poetry... Longing, heartbreak, and the transience of life (the sense that nothing lasts forever), but somehow with very little pessimism.

Realized Persian (as well as Arabic) script is not only beautiful, but also incredibly left-hand-friendly. I don't have to freaking smudge the letters with the side of my palm and pray they stay readable.

Sounds like a really exciting collection you have! Jaadugar, yes! Initially it was the Hindi movie Padmaavat, which features Alauddin Khilji (fought against the Mongol forces of the Chagatai Khanate). I was looking for references on Khilji-era attire and somehow landed on Mongol history.

I don't watch anime or read manga much anymore, but I can totally make this one (and Houseki no Kuni) an exception. And now I have too many things to hyperfixate on.

Hyperfixation led me from one thing to another, getting me into Persian literature and the Turko-Mongol world, and eventually landing me back at Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia... watching it all over again.

Been curious about Threads since a lot of fine artists and traditional artists seem to be using it for networking. Would you say it's as noisy as Twitter?

Thank you so much, it means a lot🙏 In-person group lessons have worked great for me, while online mentorships are somewhat hit or miss. I tend to lose my footing during periods of self-study. I probably need another system for those periods of working alone while avoiding beating myself up hard😅

I feel neurodivergents live in a very different wavelength/timeline, added to the fact growth doesn't happen in a straight diagonal line... which is infuriating at times. But yes! There is benefit of taking things slowly and enjoying things longer🐢 Thank you for your wise words, as always🙏

Idk, I feel so inadequate sometimes. I often feel like I'm going to run out of life before I ever fully grasp the fundamentals of art. I'm already somewhat past the halfway point of the average human lifespan, and there's always a possibility that it could be cut short.

It's like Galaxy Quest, but even more furiously devoted to the series, with lots of dick jokes... I can almost trick myself into thinking I'm watching TNG.

Paramount still hasn't brought Star Trek back to streaming, and I couldn't take it anymore, so I started watching The Orville instead... I was NOT prepared for how insanely, almost absurdly devoted it is to Star Trek. It genuinely carries on the spirit of the series... It's on Disney+!

Continuation from my previous timelapse video. Another important lesson I've learned over the years is to hold off on the details. That applies to both painting and sculpting. You'll notice that I don't subdivide my mesh until later in the process🐢 #digitalsculpting #timelapse #zbrush

My ZBrush muscle memory is slowly coming back. One of the greatest lessons I learned from Gael Kerchenbaum during our mentorship earlier this year was the importance of gesture and silhouette. I now try to prioritize those over anatomy, especially during the blockout phase, like in today's study.

Yes! Especially when starting from scratch instead of using a base mesh (which is probably the smarter approach from a production standpoint). But the effort definitely pays off in the long run 😃

1-hour torso study, trying to get back on track with ZBrush after a long break. The last time I properly used ZBrush was three months ago, and I realized I have to relearn a lot of things that never quite made it into my muscle memory😅
