Oh for sure. In this case, I really just mean what it looks and feels like. You don’t see many images of peeling or people trying to endure not scratching the itch. Healing methods is a controversy that doesn’t need to be. Listen to your artist and eventually learn what your specific body needs.

More people should show this, not to discourage getting tattoos but because folks don’t talk about the healing process much. It’s weird, uncomfortable, potentially more irritating the tattooing in some spots and a little gross. But if you take good care of it, you’ll have an amazing tattoo for life!

New tattoo in the gross but totally normal peeling phase. DO NOT PULL ON THAT DEAD SKIN! You’ll regret it. Let it fall off naturally, as gross as that might look in your bed in the morning.
