Wouldn't it have been obvious to the teacher as soon as they came back and wouldn't they have effectively put the whole class in detention until they were all found? Wouldn't they all have been easy to find because they were emitting sound?

My daily contacts have an inside and an outside. They're a bowl shape normally but if they're inside-out then the they turn into more of a V shape. I always have a quick check but they almost always sat the right way in the blister pack.

So far this is a mega #LeMans24. Not much for the crash reels until recently, but 18 hours in and no idea which of 3 (or more) manufacturers will win it. The safety car just seems to bring Ferrari back into it but who will be good in the heat anyway!? #21RSL24

Well, the official decision doesn't mention that. It mentions the fact that they gave the position back outside the pitlane. IMO unsafe release penalties are about pitlane safety so it doesn't matter what they did outside the pitlane.
