Any word on whether there will be a WoT Idol 2026?.... #WotSkies, #TheWheelofTime

Topher @topherwot.bsky.social · 25/06/2025

Something that I noticed that was disappointing is that in the runup to S1, BS was very positive and spoke glowingly about the show. Then when it came out to mixed reviews, he distanced himself from it. Things just seemed to go south from there.

Wow! Thanks for sharing my video! I've got the song down for this year's submission and I'm wrapping up the lyrics. I can't wait for this year's show! It is basically a national holiday, in my mind... #WotIdol2025, #WotSkies

Very perceptive! I rewatched E1 last week and was impressed on how the writers set up these parallels/contrasts. They also really set up the tower split in such a way that show-only people will completely understand...

Agreed... but this is not the fault of the showrunner/writers. The showrunner for WOT was planning on 10 episodes per season, but Amazon pulled the rug out from under him and changed it to 8. Apparently, that is a hard limit with Amazon. It really limits the length/scope of what they can do.

I've adored S3 of WOT and loved the finale, with one minor nitpick... why has nobody talked about Aviendha being able to channel? Seems odd, like maybe there was a deleted scene or something. Am I missing something? #TheWheelOfTime, #WheelOfTime, #WotSkies

Preach! The Perrin change at the end of the episode makes sense. They need to give him stuff to do in S4 instead of just living his best life with Faile for a season. (I’m looking at you Fires of Heaven!) The Loial change hurts but with screen time and budget restraints, it makes sense… #WotSkies

So, WOT is my favorite series ever, so I'm biased. In general, the first six books are outstanding, books 7-10 are a grind, and books 11-14 are great. The ending is very satisfying. The first four books are a litmus test.

E7 is one of those episodes that as a book reader was a little tough at first. But when I watched it a second time and saw show-only reactions, I came to terms with some of the thematic/adaptive choices.... #WotSkies, #TheWheelofTime

I agree... I was expecting more wolves, Lord Luc, Tam/Abell, etc. But it would make sense that they're saving stuff for S4. In the books, Perrin is famously absent for 1.5 books after TSR, and they need stuff for him to do in S4...

Agree! 1) Perrin surrendering was the right thematic choice for the show. It also gives the show more to work with in S4. 2) I'm devastated about Loial, but thinking ahead it makes sense to write him off now. Sadly, he's a tertiary character the rest of the books. He went out like a boss...

I think they're going to name drop a lot of characters from the books just as easter eggs. For example, they mentioned general Bryne in E3, but I'd not be surprised if we never see him in the show. I seriously doubt that Morgase is going to have anything like the arc she had in the books.

As I sat with this creative choice, it made more sense to me. In the books, after the battle of the Two Rivers, Perrin is famously absent from book 5 and is barely in book 6. I think they're pulling forward some stuff from the later books in order to give him more to do next season...

Yeah, I’ve been a bit of a Rand apologist over the last few weeks. Besides everything you mentioned, he’s a 20-year old kid who barely knows how to channel. He’s being groomed and manipulated by a 3000-year old forsaken. Realistically, what could he do? Break up with her and get merked in his sleep?

I've had the exact same problem. WOT just randomly disappears off of the list and I have had to manually look it up. Amazon needs to get its act together...

100%! This was a minor aspect of the books that I loved. Had Lan had a son, he would have been about Rand's age. I always got the sense of not just a friendship, but genuine paternal feelings. The last few episodes of the show have nailed it...

S3:E4… That was a masterpiece… best episode of the series and one of the best hours of television I’ve ever seen… 10/10… #WotSkies, #TheWheelOfTime

Not to be too pedantic, but in the books, Siuane is right up there at the top tier of AS in terms of strength. She is only weak after she is stilled and healed by Nyneave… #WOTSpoilers

The first 80% of Lord of Chaos is slow, then the last 20% is one of the best sections in the entire series. If you finish the book, I think you’ll like it overall. I’ve got to warn you though, there are 2-3 books coming up that are significantly slower than LOC. Still worth it, IMO…

Yeah, that would be my preference. I’m just wondering about the logistics and the motives that would be necessary to make that happen. I don’t think ta’veren hunting would make sense in the context of the show…. #WotSpoilers

I loved Meera Syal as Verin in WOT S2 and was glad to see she's listed for S3. Any theories on what she might be up to this season? Going to the Aiel Waste? Tanchico? Chilling in the tower? #WotSkies, #TheWheelOfTime

Yeah, she definitely became more incompetent as the series progressed. There's a lot of rich material here for Shohreh... a character who's on the side of the light, but has the wrong motivations, preconceived ideas, etc. Can't wait!

Not to mention the fact that undocumented immigrants are coming for a reason... 100k's of US employers knowingly and deliberately offer them work in order pay shit wages and no OT.... and yet people blame the immigrants for taking the jobs that our employers are offering them? Complete BS...
