Please stop overestimating what a democratic Congress can do. The oligarchs are spending money to make you think a Dem Congress can arrest people and hold trials and pass laws without a POTUS signature so that you’ll be disappointed when they don’t do stuff they can’t do. Don’t fall for it.

What is ICE Air?

*ICE Air is a conglomerate of charter airlines that fly detainees between local prisons, detention centers, and out of the country
* “Shuffle” flights are domestic
* Detainees are shackled before/during/after
* Denver Air Connection / Key Lime, Global Crossing, Eastern Air Express
* Akin to FedEx or Amazon, hub/spoke
* ~65,000 currently in ICE detention, ~70% don’t have a criminal conviction

ICE Air at MSP

* Shuffle flights, taking detainees to detention centers via Alexandria, LA and El Paso, TX

* 2-3 flights per day during Metro Surge; now 2-3 per week

* ICE vehicles carry detainees to/from the airport from Whipple

IDK. I'm not in Maine. And Platner dropped less than 24 hours ago. I would think Mills is the obvious choice. Before they step up they need to make calls to restart her campaign team and make sure they are ready to announcements. Not something that gets off the ground in an instant.

To be clear. Graham Platner's rise was as an "outsider" candidate propped up by the left. Mainstream Dems were backing Janet Mills. It was not the national party or the situational Democrats who pushed Platner. Not pointing fingers. Just some people in this thread are losing the plot.

As a Minnesotan, while this is good, I want to tamper the enthusiasm here. It's largely toothless, and not nearly far enough. We know from the aftermath of George Floyd, moderates will hold this up as a win and then stop pushing for real reform. We need a lot more from our politicians.
