iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

i think i will just turn out the lights and go to sleep.

it's still usable. at least the batting part is 🤭 that's what basting spray is for. the bigger annoyance is that it's very wrinkled from being stuck together, but i can't just toss it in the dryer to sort it out. it's draped over a rack on the patio. hopefully a bit of dew will help.

I just refunded two clients because working with them was taking a toll on my sanity. I’m trying to raise $300 to offset it so that I can buy groceries & pay my phone bill. If I can get 60 subscribers @ the $5 tier, I can make it happen. My next song, “Hire Brian,” will be posted soon! 🎶❤️ #HelpSky

note to quilters. do not leave fusible batting in a hot car.

my quilt top & quilt back measure less than ¼" different to each other. i mean, it's not an intricately pieced top, but i'm pretty impressed. nb: i had intended to self bind, so this was actually on purpose. tomorrow we sandwich!

honestly, i'm kind of annoyed at the authors who blurbed it, too. it's a decent story & concept, but malapropisms, directly repeating entire paragraphs & writing things that reveal the writer doesn't understand the words they're using is killing the vibe. that & the fridged mothers. oof. so many.

does there come a time when an author gets so big that editors & copy editors just kinda give up trying to get the author to work with them? i am reading a SFF work from a cross genre author who seems to be p big in their home genre, but there's stuff in this series is just egregious.

it's weird. she seems fairly trans positive in past posting, if kinda clumsy about it occasionally. sad to kinda throw it all out for racist, queerphobic snipe like that.

so i sewed 4 dinosaur appliqués on this quilt top i'm working on. finished the last one today. of the 90 billion pins that pricked me as i was maneuvering the fabric around, the very last one was the one that drew blood. fucker. (dw, the fabric is fine)
