I never knew exactly where Bone Temple was going but it bookended with both 28 Years part 1, and the original 28 Days fantastically. Its implications for the films before it are far reaching and tbh I think I'd be happy if we never got another 28 film. This closes it all off nicely.

28 Years part 1 has a fun little vindication/callback of 28 Weeks' intro but the rest of the movie is very much about how people keep living, and how they move on from loss. Then part 2 is both funny, bittersweet and kind of insane in a really enjoyable way.

Honestly what I like about both 28 Years films is they pick up on how the original 28 Days ruminated a lot on the gravity of death even in an apocalyptic scenario. Even in the first film, the loss of Jim's parents and Frank were very very heavy sequences but played respectfully.

It speaks volumes that 28 Weeks had to whip out In The House In a Heartbeat three times over but 28 Years only invoked it once, and even brought back East Hastings for a fun little wraparound. The swede was kind of annoying but was a good watermark for the culture shock of UK vs everywhere else.

28 Years and the Bone Temple were honestly phenomenal films Years was surprisingly Utopia-esque with its editing and color grading, and as mentioned before blindsided me with an emotional powerful moment Bone Temple was surprisingly meditative, sweet, and ended on a stellar bookend

It is shocking how much I felt absolutely nothing during any of 28 Weeks Ya know what's great? They brought back In the House In A Heartbeat three fucking times in that movie and it never felt fitting Years didn't bring it back at all, but the one invocation of East Hastings hit like a truck.
