Robert Pattinson and Zendaya’s chemistry and performances are enough to make the film a worthwhile relationship drama, but it fails to meaningly tackle the ideas it invites, ending up as more of a conversation stirrer than a satisfying exploration of an uncomfortable topic. It’s Pattinson who really shines here. His character, Charlie, is given at least a semblance of a journey. Its hesitation is puzzling, since it otherwise handles the subject deftly, finding moments of humor
