🌡️ Germany set a new heat record on Friday, which was broken yesterday, and broken again today. Records were also broken in many other countries across Europe. 🥵 Climate change played a significant role in these recent, incredibly hot temperatures, an attribution study now confirmed.

It is cool that Mosel ist much more than Riesling. However, moving the focus away from Riesling to other grape varieties is crucial. Climate Change increases average temperatures, leading to declining Riesling quality in the mid and long run.

Why would a #farmer put this in his field? This #drainage system is quite common in #Brandenburg and keeps fields from flooding after heavy rain (despite mostly sandy soil). Buried underground are porous pipes that lead to this reservoir, which itself drains to the road ditch, keeping the field dry.

Yesterday was summer solstice, so here's a fun experiment I did on vacation this time last year. It shows how much brighter it is and how much later the sun sets the further north you move. If all the photos were from the same longitude the effect would be even more pronounced. #summersolstice
