A Wind Waker """recomp""" was posted and their Github actually says this. It's such an AI-generated port, they were so hands-off with it, that they didn't even bother testing most of the game. The retro space is in hell and I hate these fucking people

PC - One of my most treasured PC games. I spent I don't know how many hours in RCT all throughout childhood, and I still love dipping back into it today (usually via OpenRCT2). This game is comforting like no other. I have the original base game disc somewhere too with the manual, but I forget where

WS - I only own two WonderSwan games, and this is the one I can actually play without reading it. The carts are kinda cool-- they bizarrely have exposed pins, but the little protective cases they come with are awesome. I wish I had a WS Color or Crystal instead of the original monochrome, but alas.

Lynx - This game is bad but it shows off how colorful the Lynx was for its time. I somehow out of curiosity got a CIB Lynx for like $40 that even included the little survey card you send into Atari. I don't even *like* most Lynx games, I think it's a pretty crappy platform, but it's interesting!

California Games sits on top of a model 1 Atari Lynx, which sits on top of its original box. It's hard to see in the photo but the box still has a faded sticker from Kaybee Toys on it, for $99.99

PS4 - I don't actually have a PS4 console, I play them on PS5. I also don't really like this game, but I had to play it. It's a bizarre dichotomy; the digital is a laggy but patched 30fps, but the disc build can go up to 60fps on PS5 & has softlocks that require you to patch it & lose the framerate.

Wasn't a big fan of this one. My other hot take is that I also wasn't in love with Ico either. But I absolutely adore Shadow of the Colossus, even in its low-fps PS2 form.

PSV - It's gotta be Gravity Rush. I played the demo without knowing anything about this game, fell in love with it, and went out and bought it. It's janky and not all the way there, but it's got a lot of heart and character, and its central mechanic is tons of fun. I love Kat as a protagonist too.

PS3 - Tough choice between this & Folklore, neither of which were ever available digitally in the US, making the discs the only official way of owning them. But man I love RR7, it's gorgeous & runs at 1080p60 (a launch title in 2006!). I got a PS3 Super Slim specifically for Persona 5 in 2017.

PSP - These two are great fun, and I kind of like them better than the equivalent Mario games. I didn't originally have physicals of these, but I loved them so much I bought this double-pack, which was insanely cheap. My PSP is a 3000 that was bundled with Rock Band Unplugged at the time.

A dual-pack of PSP UMDs for Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee and Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip sitting on the original box of my piano black PSP-3000, which was bundled with Rock Band Unplugged and a voucher for the movie School of Rock. The PSP itself sits on the box next to the games.
This system was a frequent companion in my college years on the commuter train.

PS2 - Picking this because I actually haven't played it yet. Would've planned on the remaster, but after seeing how it mangled a lot of the original facial animation, when I do play it, it'll be this exact copy. Got a PS2 Slim really late, but I like it so much more than the bulky original.

PS1 - If I had a copy of Ridge Racer Type 4 it'd be that, but I don't so it's FF8. This is extremely nostalgic for me, despite being a pretty dumb game. It's a dumb game I have a big soft spot for. A friend in high school just *gave* me his PS1 when he got a PS2 since it could still play PS1 games.

An original grey PlayStation sitting with the lid popped open, and disc 1 of Final Fantasy VIII sitting in the tray. Next to it are the big 4-disc jewel case for the game, its instruction manual, and mini-guide. The jewel case still has a GameStop used sticker on it, for $15.
The PS1 is cool, but I'd love one of the slim white PSOne models, because that is one of the most aesthetically-pleasing console designs out there.

SAT - This game kicks so much ass. My brother got me a JP Saturn & a handful of imported games as a gift one time. I'd never had a Saturn before but always thought it seemed pretty cool. And, outside the US library, it is! PD2 deserves a better re-release than the sad remake it's getting.

GG - Not a big fan of the Game Gear or Master System, but you know what? These first couple 8-bit Sonics are pretty fun in their own way. I might actually offload my Game Gear to a person or place that would actually enjoy the system though. Needs cap replacements that I can't be bothered to do.

A SEGA Game Gear with the first 8-bit Sonic the Hedgehog game sitting on it. The system's got deteriorating capacitors inside it that need replacing, but last I checked they weren't leaking or anything. I want to send it to someone or somewhere that would actually enjoy it and fix it properly, since I don't care for it much anyway.

Sw2 - I only have three Switch 2 carts and the other two are cross-gen editions lol. So AoI is my only S2 exclusive cart so far. It's as fun as the other Hyrule Warriors, and I 100% it more or less in 70-something hours, which is far more reasonable than the insane grind of the first HW.

My Switch 2 with a bunch of dust and smudges and crap on it, alongside the physical versions of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Metroid Prime 4, and Fantasy Life i. Imprisonment is the only Switch 2 exclusive I own physically so far.

Sw1 - What an odd thing to exist-- as a physical game, or at all. Nintendo usually held Zelda close to the chest, but as with Mario, they loosened up on Switch. Really cool that an indie studio got to make such a creative, well thought out spinoff/crossover officially, and sell it on shelves!

Wii U - Yeah, I have this version. No Switch until a couple years later. I waited outside Best Buy for this until 3AM in the cold with people who were mostly getting Switches. It will likely be the last midnight launch in my life. It was so worth it; exploring this game made me feel like a kid again
