Two films from 2024 that make a perfect double feature. No explanations.

5 first time watches from November that I would strongly recommend if you haven't seen! Nights of Cabiria (1957) Heat (1995) All We Imagine as Light (2024) What Happened Was... (1994) Mars Express (2023)

Still have so many films to check out before the year's up. What should I prioritize? And what am I missing?

I'm so glad Performance is getting a release by Criterion!! This is a truly wild, psyched out, split-in-two gangster movie starring Mick Jagger. Very British and very good! Check it out!

There are currently only 22 films streaming on Netflix made before 1980 and not a single one made before 1960, with the oldest film on the platform currently being PSYCHO. I know I’m a broken record but: buy physical media, support your local library, etc etc

Love the fact that the Criterion edition of Gummo has an appreciation from Hype Williams, director of the hip hop classic Belly. There is a scene in Belly where characters are watching the film Gummo, so it's a great full-circle moment!

First post! Most likely going to post new pickups along with films I'm watching and music I'm enjoying. So please enjoy a recent pickup I've been diving into and Alice posing with her top 4!
