Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 25/09/2026No I accuse you of not knowing how the machine in question works, then using that ignorance as 'evidence'. I have no problem carrying on the debate, I am finding your digging in incredibly funny. I would be quite happy to show you how you are wrong, but you have banned me from using the 's' word 100
Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Yeah. In quite an aggressive manner. If you tell people on the internet they are wrong for completely spurious reasons, you are going to get counter arguments. If you don't want interactions just think your comments. 100
Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Well that's certainly a convincing argument... Just go and have a biscuit or something. You seem to be taking this worryingly personally. 100
Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 25/09/2026With regards to point 1, I don't know. If this were one point in many to support it being photoshopped, it could strengthen the arguement. As it's the only point which isn't provably wrong, it seems likely there is another explanation we are not privy to. 100
Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I don't know if it's photoshopped, which is why I'm curious to see why you think it is. It's not a tractor, it's a sprayer. I know full well the features of a sprayer, I am a farmer. Points 2, 3 and 4 are what I know you would find on a sprayer. 100
Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Before you dig deeper I suggest you look how a self propelled sprayer works. All the things you are pointing out are features of the machine. I get a lot of people won't know a lot about sprayers, but they won't use that ignorance as 'proof' that self propelled sprayers don't exist. 100
Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 25/09/20264: no they're not. It is ok to admit you're wrong, you know. 100
Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 25/09/20261: we don't know it's the middle of the day. Could be early morning, a lot of spraying is done in the early morning. 2: everything is kept up right under the chassis, which we can't see, the whole point is to have high ground clearance. 3: This machine does not cut hedges, it's a sprayer. 200
Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I am genuinely interested in what you see in the image that makes you think it's photoshopped. As far as I know it may or may not be, but I see nothing that suggests it to my amateur eye. I only know that machine exists. 100
Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I am a farmer. I am 100% certain that is a self propelled sprayer. It looks exactly like a self propelled sprayer. A car could fit under a self propelled sprayer. Why would someone Photoshop an image to look exactly like something they could just take a photo of? 110
Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 25/09/2026With the exception of the blue patch in the sky (which wouldn't need to have been altered) there are no signs this has been photoshopped at all. 000
Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I'm not obsessing over anything, I just replied to your comment. The machine in the picture clearly has sprayer arms. According to Google, John Deere self propelled sprayers can have a clearance of upto 1.93m, easily enough to fit a small car in. 200

Tom Pugh @tompugh13.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I don't think it's been altered. I don't think it's a tractor, looks like a sprayer, which has high clearance for going through standing crops. 010
