“Tommie is one of the most genuine creators on the occult scene. I have a lot of respect for Tommie” Well, can't ask for any more than that. Very nice. Very appreciated. Denis mentions my new book as part of this week’s Foolish Fish Esoteric News! www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rRZdcMpKPU

Apart from the whole “lust of result” element I also think there is some deep-seated "lack of worth" wound going on, too. And also, maybe the things I want are also harder to get.

Tommie Kelly @tommiekelly.com · 20/06/2026

Mine is maybe a bit higher than that, but I have noticed over the years that when I don't care at all about the outcome I am usually way more successful, and when I really want something, I am much less successful.

I think a lot of magic not working comes down to our own shadows or limiting beliefs. There is definitely opposing outside forces, obviously, but a lot of the sabotage is an inside job.

New blog post is out: “Magick doesn't work like magic”. A lot of people get into Magick aiming to be “king of the moon”, get nothing, and decide it's all bullshit. I reckon the trick is walk to your desires rather than run.

I realised I've spent most of my life half-convinced that one day it'll all click into place, and then had the slightly deflating, slightly freeing realisation that it won't, and was never going to.

Did Gordo White just die? WTF?

A screenshot of a text announcement on a dark background under the heading 'Announcement'. The text reads: 'I write to share the heartbreaking news that Gordon has passed away. Gordon left this world while travelling in Peru - following his life's passion - learning and experiencing traditional magic and shamanic practice so he could continue to teach and help others successfully navigate life. Rune Soup - and you, the community - were Gordon's proudest achievement. I know many of you will feel his loss greatly. I encourage you to find each other, and your family and friends to help process his loss. I've set up a space...'. The bottom of the image shows mobile app navigation icons like reply, email, and trash.

Book 2 of Alan Moore's Long London series is out later this month. I really enjoyed the first one, so I'm looking forward to it. I did the audiobook last time and will continue with that as the narrator was very good. amzn.to/4u4uumw

The cost of the print versions of The Grimoire of the Forty Servants will be coming down significantly in price in the next day or so. Cost of production has gone way down, and so I am now able to price the book at a much better price despite it being printed in full colour. So that's great news!

My only hope, and I am optimistic about it, is that some new form of human self-expression emerges to fill the void. Fingers crossed.

070

Tommie Kelly @tommiekelly.com · 29/04/2026

The internet is now mostly bots and a high percentage of the human users are just copy-pasting verbatim from LLMs for their posts, comments, blogs, newsletters, scripts, etc. Not sure if I have much more energy to hear or read one more person say “That's not x, that's Y!” and all the other Ai tells

130

Tommie Kelly @tommiekelly.com · 29/04/2026

Live music still has a future, I'm guessing, and maybe those street caricature artists will have a market, but not sure what else will do well any more. Ai has infected everything and there is no putting the toothpaste back in the tube.

130

Tommie Kelly @tommiekelly.com · 29/04/2026

But, certainly “making a living” from creative self-expression is on its way out, and that was never an easy thing at the best of times.

120

Tommie Kelly @tommiekelly.com · 29/04/2026

It's getting harder and harder to not see that writing, making art, or making music seems utterly pointless now, apart from the self-satisfaction of making it (which is still a fantastic and vital reason to make art).

Tommie Kelly @tommiekelly.com · 29/04/2026

I'm listening to some Ai music on Spotify that got shared in a WhatsApp group and other than I was told it was Ai I would never have been able to guess it was.
