Still reeling from THE HOUSE SHE BUILT. A deranged tour de force of Hollywood scandal, high camp weirdness, operatic melodrama, and it goes to places you could never predict in your wildest dreams! The cast are very talented and so lovely. @emreadsthebooks.bsky.social @paradiselibrary.bsky.social

If you want to see some of the most impeccable comic performances, I highly recommend HOW THE OTHER HALF LOVES at The Old Vic with the mighty Roger Allam! I love Alan Ayckbourn because he manages to be so clever, dark AND very funny. He gets taken for granted these days, but he's one of the greats!

Arcadia: what a spine-tingling masterpiece! A dazzling panorama blending mystery, philosophy, literary history, comedy of manners, tragedy, romance, sex, wit, and the heat death of the universe. Just amazing--reminds me why I want to be a writer. Incredible cast too, especially Isis Hainsworth.

Q. What role connects Jack Lemmon, Alan Alda, and Indira Varma? A. Poor ol' Shelly 'The Machine' Levene Glengarry Glen Ross is such a sharp, funny play. The Old Vic's new production is great, and highly recommended

One of many highlights from the Bodies from the Library conference: a chance to see my great friend Rob Reef, who gifted me a copy of the latest book in his superb Stableford mystery series, and which he has (very kindly) dedicated to me. I'm very honoured, Rob, thank you! See you again soon!

Still giddy with the brilliance of this year's SOLD OUT Bodies from the Library conference. I did a talk on John Dickson Carr (my fave) and spent time in the company of some of the best people. Huge congratulations to John Curran, Mark Green, Susan Cooper et al for making it a roaring success!
