Thinking about Sayre's law I was reminded of the time @rdmpage.bsky.social gave a seminar here in Sheffield and talked about the furious wikipedia argument over the correct scientific name for sperm whales. It remains the only time I've seen the C word on a slide in a scientific presentation.

Counter to what my family will tell you, I'm honestly not a miserable person and I enjoy a wide range of arts, culture, sports. It's just unfortunate that things I have zero interest sitting down to watch on TV include football, ballroom dancing, competitive baking, and murder in the bloody dark.
