Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Liverpool is a very cool city and I can’t wait to come back for a proper stay. 000
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I’ve seen 64 out of 100. Most glaring omissions: Rome Rectify The Knick Hannibal Carnivale Boardwalk Empire In Treatment 100
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 18/09/2026I’ve owned PlayStations for 28 years and I can’t quite believe I’m going to have to buy an Xbox I don’t want just to play Kojima’s games from now on. What a blunder on Sony’s part. 100
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Fantastic to see Rhea Seehorn finally win the Best Actress Emmy she was inexplicably denied for Better Call Saul. 000
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Had a great time at Taste Film presents Lord of the Rings earlier. Ate an immersive menu that really brought the film to life. Delicious and inventive 👌 If they show The Two Towers and the ROTK next, I may need to purchase bigger trousers. 000
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 30/08/2026I was lucky enough to see Michael Mann’s 1995 masterpiece Heat at Rooftop Cinema in Peckham tonight. A great experience. The planes flying over the glowing city skyline at night really added to the film’s atmosphere. 010
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Had the good luck to attend a special screening of the amazing Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared as part of the BFI’s No Strings Attached season. Genuinely one of the best things that’s ever been on TV. Surreal, disgusting, frightening, and above all laugh out loud funny. Wish there were 50 more episodes. 101
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Very sad and shocking news about Glen Hansard. I was a big fan. It’s only a month or so since we saw him play at the Roundhouse. One of those rare artists that you feel means every word they sing. www.independent.ie/irish-news/r...independent.ieOscar-winning musician Glen Hansard dies in Dublin motorcycle crashAcademy Award-winning singer-songwriter Glen Hansard has died overnight in a motorcycle crash in Dublin’s Lucan. 100
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 13/07/2026A month later, I’m still turning over images and moments from this movie in my mind. The Hansel and Gretel monologue, that bone chilling phone call, the way she walks… Great stuff. 010
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 13/07/2026I loved Sam Neil. A fantastic actor who made everything he was in better. I really appreciated how he brought a relentlessly weird energy and offbeat sense of humour to every role. His characters could be loveable or terrifying, and often both. A proper artist.static.klipy.comHello Alan GrantALT: Hello Alan Grant 000
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 01/07/2026There’s a great David Bowie exhibition at The Lightroom near King’s Cross at the moment. An immersive collage of light and sound projected on 11ft walls covering 360 degrees. The closest thing we’ll ever get to seeing him perform live again. Made me quite teary. Recommended. 000
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 24/06/2026Finally saw My Neighbour Totoro at the Gillian Lynne Theatre last night. The only word I can use to describe it is magical. A really classy production top to bottom from an insanely talented Japanese team. The puppets are jaw dropping. 142
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 16/06/2026All Double Fine has ever done is try and kindle a little joy and beauty in the world. It’s absolutely disgusting that Microsoft is doing this. Hope Tim can find a buyer / take them independent again, but there’s no world in which this doesn’t severely hurt the studio. Sorry guys, you deserve better 020
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 14/06/2026Went to see Stephen Fretwell play the Southbank Centre last night. I’m a huge fan, and every gig feels like it could potentially be the last one he ever plays, so it’s always a treat. The great David Thewlis was also sat in the row next to ours, which was an unexpected bonus. 000
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 14/06/2026Obsession is fantastic. The best execution of this horror concept I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a LOT. Every choice from the casting to the choice of lighting to the music is absolutely perfect. Deserves to make a billion dollars. 010
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 06/06/2026Went to a great talk at the Royal Institution tonight about crime scene forensics 🕵️♂️ 010
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 05/06/2026Truly awful news. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...bbc.co.ukAnthony Head: Buffy and Ted Lasso actor dies at 72The 72-year-old British actor also had roles in shows including Merlin and Little Britain. 000
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 03/06/2026One of the many problems with using gen AI for creative work is that you can only generate things using the existing data the model is trained on. It can’t create anything truly new or original, or think outside the box. It is the box and it doesn’t think. 121
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 29/05/2026Went to see the very funny Pierre Novellie at Leicester Square Theatre tonight. Great show. Highly recommended. Wasn’t allowed to take photos of that, so here’s Tom Hanks at the Toy Story 5 premiere. 010
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 23/05/2026Glen Hansard and band were on fantastic form tonight at the Roundhouse. Never phoned in a performance in his life. 130
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 23/05/2026Pubs that aren’t ashamed of being pubs sell sandwiches. Pubs that are ashamed of being pubs sell artisan sausage rolls for £12. 010
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 20/05/2026Trying to process 22 yrs of hope, despair, near misses, incredible highs, terrible lows and finally getting over the line. The 8-2 at Old Trafford, Arshavin scoring the winner against Barcelona, Santi & Jack dancing through Norwich’s defence. Flashes before my eyes. No idea how to react #Arsenal 110
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 19/05/2026This is a lovely bit of writing that I defy any Arsenal fans to read without getting choked up. So close to the promised land now. arseblog.news/2026/05/one-... 000
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 18/05/2026I really like Kneecap anyway, but Irish Goodbye might be my favourite thing they’ve ever recorded. They should lean into their softer side more often imo. 000
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 02/05/2026We should all hope to live long enough to make something as good as Cameron Winter’s Heavy Metal. 000

Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 03/04/2026I really liked The Drama. I knew next to nothing about it going in and was very pleasantly surprised by the complexity and audacity of the superb script. The acting was also excellent. One I’m going to think about for a long time. Avoid spoilers like the plague. 011
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 14/03/2026Even putting aside the fact that reboots of 20 year old shows are almost always terrible, rebooting Buffy was a particularly bad idea. The inconvenient truth is that Buffy is Joss Whedon’s vision and without him, it’s just not the same show. 100
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 14/02/2026It’s not perfect (none of the adaptations I’ve seen are) and there isn’t enough cruelty or ghosts, but it’s pretty good 🤷♂️ 010
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 14/02/2026I saw Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights tonight and was impressed. WH is a complex and mysterious novel, full of ambiguity and contradictions. This remixed version is stylish, captures the novel’s big emotions and almost all of the important themes, and has some fantastic visual storytelling. 000
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 23/12/2025Watching Scrooge. Alec Guinness as Jacob Marley is one of my favourite performances by an actor in anything ever. The rest of the film is…a bit dated, but its visions of hell and spirits suffering eternal damnation are still absolutely chilling. Bring back terrifying Christmas movies for kids. 120
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 12/12/2025Whatever Tarantino’s faults, he’s an absolutely exceptional filmmaker. Delighted to finally see the incredible Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair in the cinema after a 20 year wait. An excellent way to spend 5 hours at the movies. 010
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 05/12/2025This is cultural vandalism. It will be a terrible day for cinema as we know it if this goes through. 030
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 02/12/2025Still cracking up at my wife’s genius Pictionary clue from the weekend. 031
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 02/12/2025Watched Train Dreams over the weekend and it was excellent. Dreamlike, haunting, moody and very emotional. More like this please Netflix. 010
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 23/11/2025Radiohead were phenomenal at the O2 tonight. 2 hours of magic. 050
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 22/11/2025Why does Joe always look so unhappy with his juice? Has he just been told the price? 010
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 16/11/2025I really liked Steven Soderbergh’s Black Bag. A quirky low key relationship drama in disguise as a spy thriller. Recommended. 020
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 16/11/2025In the last few weeks I’ve seen both Chiwetel Ejiofor and Kiera Knightley while out and about in London. If I see Andy Lincoln I’m taking it as a sign that the universe wants me to watch Love Actually. 110
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 10/11/2025This is the kind of show that doesn’t come around very often, where within half an episode something about the way it’s written/shot/acted clicks with you and you just know you’ll have to watch every second of it. Can’t wait to see where Vince and team are headed. Really impressive. 030
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 07/10/2025If you’ve ever wondered what standing behind Chiwetel Ejiofor in Cafe Nero would be like, I can confirm he’s very well dressed and extremely polite 👍 020
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 05/10/2025The big man Ridley Scott at BFI Southbank. Very funny, very northern, absolutely zero bullshit. 030
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 25/09/2025The fact that Nick Offerman really likes Highlander is further proof that he’s one of the good ones. 110
Tom @tomhadfield.bsky.social · 21/09/2025This was good and deserved to do better at the box office. Properly crafted and heartfelt, not cynical production line slop. 010
