A grid of small line charts shows how Middle East governments’ relationships with one another shifted from before the war in Gaza to after the US–Iran ceasefire. Each panel is centred on one country, with coloured lines showing whether its ties with others were friendly, neutral, suspicious or hostile. The graphic shows growing polarisation, with Israel and Iran standing out as the most isolated countries, as many of their neighbours moved away from neutral or friendly ties and toward suspicion or hostility. The UAE also saw strained relationships, as its ties with Israel grew stronger. In contrast, Syria's relationships are shown to have improved after the fall of the Assad government, though ties with Iran and Iraq worsened. Among many other countries, including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Qatar, Turkey and Lebanon, the charts show warming ties.
