I think my little folding kettle has packed it in after 2 years of aggressive use. I'm gonna see if I can fix it, I bought the thing after watching a Big Clive teardown so I know it's not a terribly complex machine, and it would be a shame to make more waste.

got some ink samples yesterday. mostly just wanted to try the grey, but the others looked pretty. writing with the iroshizuku after the others felt like water vs heavy cream, pilot really knows what they're doing.

handwriting practice! this is the hand designed by JetPens for their writing samples - with readability and nib size variation in mind. I like its simplicity, and relative similarity to my own non-cursive. This was my first time doing it, so I've not done the freehand portions, maybe tomorrow.

Trying out this sample I got of Yabukita Sencha. Such unreal colour, it's even more vibrant in real life. Very savoury, rich mouthfeel, and - to use a gong fu cha term - a pleasant hui gan.
