Thank you so much to everyone who came out tonight to support Aaron Adams in his race for County Council District 9. In what is one of the most competitive seats in the County, I know Aaron is up to the task of working to keep this critical swing seat blue this November.

Lissa is a tremendous public servant and dedicated community leader who will make a fantastic County Councilmember, picking up from the great work Councilwoman Prizio has done in District 3 over her past two terms.

Disappointed I couldn’t make it to Lissa’s campaign launch this weekend, but great to see so many come out to support her campaign kickoff.

This is one of the most competitive seats in the county, and Kathleen has the drive and commitment to keep it in Democratic hands this year and continue the great work Councilman Betkowski has been doing there for the past three years.

This past year, I had the privilege of getting to work on two congressional races here in SWPA, both in PA14 & PA17. Very proud of the performance of both campaigns, with the Dziados campaign over-performing by 4 points, and team Deluzio over-performing by 1.8 points.

Keeping Judges Donohue, Wecht, Dougherty, Dubow & Wojcik, along with electing Brandon and Stella, is critical to combating the pending far right wing Trump administration as well as the continued attacks from the PA GOP on our freedoms here in the Commonwealth.

The race that surprised me the most this year was State Rep Mandy Steele’s race - where she outperformed ‘significantly’ in the AK Valley compared to her Dem ticket mates. Very, very impressive performance from the first time incumbent in a difficult district.

For Allegheny County Council Districts, it was much of the same in that there was very little movement. County Council Districts 5 & 7 moved two points toward the Dems. Districts 6, 9 and 10 all moved two points towards the GOP, and District 4 moved roughly three points right

Tom Duerr @tomduerrpa.bsky.social · 19/12/2024
As for State Senate district margin changes, not a single district had any movement in presidential margin. As for turnout change, HD19 had a 3% decrease in overall turnout, and SD43 had a 2% decrease, but those were the only changes greater than 2% either way.

Legislative district movements were very uneventful. HD19, 23, 24, 27, 29 & 45 all moved two points to the GOP in the presidential margin. HD20, 25, 30, 32, 34 & 42 all moved two points towards the Dems.

Firstly a few notes: I won’t be including Trafford, Haysville, Glenfield, McDonald, West Elizabeth or South Versailles in these due to their small size making margin comparisons a bit wonky. Secondly, all margins for legislative districts are ‘just’ for their Allegheny portions.

Ok so I finally had time to delve into the 2024 Election Results in Allegheny County. And as many have mentioned, very little happened! But there were some noteworthy shifts here and there as well as some significant down ballot performances folks should take note of (Thread 🧵)

This means a lot to me, and so many others here, who have been working tirelessly since 2016 to make progress in this once ruby red area. Despite the statewide outcome, I’m incredibly proud the Bethel Park Democratic Committee delivered Bethel Park for Kamala Harris, Bob Casey & Eugene DePasquale

Diving into results now that Allegheny election certification is complete - in the smallest of silver linings this year, Bethel Park flipped from red to blue, marking the first time my hometown has voted for a Democrat for President since 1964.
