Re: food banks seeing an uptick in need. I live in a particularly affluent corner of an affluent state and our local food bank just switched this year from having one shopping day/ week to three days/ week. Elections matter.

Pre-kids me thought nail art was stupid and a waste of time and money. Now, having teens that have gotten into making nail art as a hobby, I stand corrected. The time and craftsmanship is pretty amazing.

I learned today that my college-aged daughter has her dad as her Uber safe ride contact person and has been using that for 2am rides. It’s a little reality jolt to realize she’s going as much as a college student as we were, but a relief to know we raised someone who communicates responsibly.

Know what kills me? A female mentor today gave me a wonderful compliment, saying she thinks I’m really smart. What I said was, “Thank you, that means so much to me” and it does, but what I didn’t say (but still 100% thought) was, “What’s your evidence for that?” Like, F U impostor syndrome!!!
