I'm really enjoying this sort of work at present - a posthumanist, postcolonial environmental history of global capitalism. I dips me lid! www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

In Manaus for fieldwork and just got news my article on Samoa and Pacific history is out in the Journal of Global History! I use a multispecies, more‑than‑human lens on capitalism and colonialism, showing how Samoan people allied with the rhinoceros beetle. OA Link below 👇👇🪲

Der SNF revidiert seine Reglemente und auch seine Förderungen leider in den letzten Jahren leider etwas an der Fachkulturen der Geisteswissenschaften vorbei. Hier meine two cents zu den Ändrungen der Publikationsfürderung.

New article from Tomás Bartoletti, Samuël Coghe and Victor Seow. ‘[T]echnocracy operates […] as an ideology that not only describes the system itself, but also the sets of ideas that animate the emergence of the system.’ Read the article on journal.commodityfrontiers.com/journal-issu.... #CFI
Image titled, in English, “Grand Sight of the Open Working Fushun Colliery. ” In the Japanese text below, there is an additional phrase, “limitless treasure house”, which appeals to the then widely held notion that Fushun’s coal resources were so bountiful as to be essentially inexhaustible. This image comes from a postcard that dates to the early 1930s. [Postcard from the author's collection.]
