Oh man, Country Bears. Childhood nostalgia

000

Nah, I don’t think there’s much of a scene for that where I live, sadly. Though that would be pretty cool. I’m a Magic player! (Primarily pauper and standard)

000

Agree! My neurodivergent mind also goes in and out of different hyperfixations pretty regularly

Alt: Red Ranger Andros gives a thumbs up

I have recently been obsessing over card games and therefore have not been watching much toku. These things come in phases for me, but we will get back on the wagon soon enough!

A cool thing about the Pac-Man fandom is that there seems to be a larger number of fan games than usual. So many cool ones out there

021

Wow, there are so many potential applications for this clip across so many fandoms

If I could Thanos snap one fanbase out of existence, it’s this one. Yes I somehow hate them more than Harry Potter fans

000

The fact that it is damn near 2027 and we are still forced to have discourse about the fucking SNYDERVERSE is a testament to how much of a cancer that fanbase truly is

271

MMPR managed to at least tie what was going on at Angel Grove to the Sentai footage. A lot of times in VR Troopers, they feel completely separate

000

A lot of those same problems are present in early MMPR, but they feel amplified here. I think even the early episodes of Power Rangers did a better job of tying the Japanese footage with the new footage

I would say VR Troopers is just okay so far. It gets a lot of mileage out of aesthetics. I also generally like the main cast, but the episodes are too formulaic. They can also be really disjointed at times as they try to piece together so many different shows. I’m still riding it out for now though

192

My cat never gave a shit about the tv until I started watching a lot of toku in recent years He loves anything with kyodai stuff going on especially, or generic fighting at the rock quarry. I guess he can easily detect the action/movement or something

I’m pretty sure they’ve done the thing where they make it look like the dog is blowing a raspberry in every episode of VR Troopers

I wonder if the androids (17&18) having infinite ki would make it possible for them to be particularly good at kaioken, or if that even has anything to do with it

130

Dan-O 🚀 @tokudan.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Oh yeah, for sure. As Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan came into the spotlight, the older cast just fell out of the storylines

Dan-O 🚀 @tokudan.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

I agree, it would make a lot of sense. And it’s a way to keep Tien relevant for longer

Every VR Troopers ending: "... And to this day, I don't like mustard on my hot dogs. Dad, wherever you are, I hope someday we'll get to grill a couple Franks." *credits roll*

Ryan's ship in VR Troopers is basically just an X-Wing lol

031

Actually wild compared to the majority of frames in that series lmao

040

It is indeed a fucking chicken. I might have to actually watch MY-TH as it comes out cuz that’s amazing lmao

Impossible to overstate how incredible GARO’s outro is

0169

That’s a good point. I just need to see that kaioken kikoho from Tien tbh

220

If that second to last one is an actual chicken it’s insanely goated

130

Okay I don’t know Japanese or anything but is that a fucking chicken???

120

It’s not a Saiyan-specific form at all, so really there’s no reason it couldn’t happen. I mean imagine Tien especially with kaioken. Just a cool thought

My second favorite form after SSj. I like that you have to take a risk/give something in exchange for the power-up I’ve always said Toriyama should have given kaioken to Tien, Piccolo and the others when they trained with King Kai

Katsushi Murakami, one of the best and most important designers in Tokusatsu that gaves us some of the most iconic designs ever, have sadly passed away recently (on july 20) May he Rest In Peace in a better place and let´s all be thankful for all the work he did

They inspire my position to be open and listen, But folks gotta go and twist it like a yoga position

That would also be sick. I hate titles that are put out by streaming platforms because we rarely get physical releases

I watched the whole show back when it was on Tubi, but yeah my shelf just feels incomplete without Ichigo on there

110

Discotek keeps dropping new Blu-rays and I need to catch up Respectfully requesting a Kamen Rider ‘71 release ❤️

Also, Taiga has so much aura holy shit
