Everyone should be focussing on what their own characters strengths and weaknesses are, and the party as a whole should be helping eachother make the most of their strengths and overcome their weaknesses, the system you described seems counterintuitive to that But thats just my opinion on this

This seems like such a strange way of doing things, i dont think ive ever had any group ive played any TTRPG with use this; we always divide currency up equally and give any weapons/armor/items to whoever we think will benefit the most from them, then sell any that arent useful or wanted by anyone
