Got a bit lost when leaving the local hospital, and found myself in their version of #backrooms . The double doors at the end opened onto an identical corridor.

An empty corridor, except for an abandoned gurney half way to the double doors at the far end. Illumination comes from a series of wall lights set at eye level.

Went to Whiteley Woods yesterday. There is a pond next to the new housing development where a lot of dragonflies were happy to pose for photographs.

Just came across this in #TheEconomist. I knew that the #Japanese #birth rate was low, but this shows it's going to get worse because the size of the childbearing cohort is about to start shrinking fast. #Japan #population

Chart of population versus age for Japan. The chart shows a big bulge in their 50s, then a sharp decline to the 20s and 30s, then another ongoing decline through 0-20. The proportion aged under 10 is about half that of those in their 50s.

Actually not quite the last. I just remembered some photos on my phone that I hadn't posted yet.

I've finally finished post-prod on my photos from #emf2026. Identifiable individuals posted with their permission. Bystander faces blurred to comply with EMF photo policy. Many further pictures follow in this thread.

The food area at EMF 2026. Several food stalls are doing busy trade, with the nearest selling vege flatbreads and wraps, and the next Greek gyros. EMF banners hang from a line of poles. In the foreground are people eating on benches. In the distance is the red swap tent, surrounded by a crowd.

The EMF Swap Shop. A red gazebo, with tables underneath. On the tables and in boxes around the gazebo, are piles of old electronic devices and components. A crowd of people are picking through the piles and talking about what they have found. Attached to a leg of the gazebo are A4 two posters. One says "I am part of the swap shop. Please do not swap me!". The other is headed "How to Swap Shop". Taped to one of the tables is another A4 poster headed "Orphan Source Joke Swear Box" with a QR code.

A Sinclair C5 electric tricycle sits parked on the brown grass near the EMF2026 Swap Shop.

A datenklo at EMF2026. This is a portaloo cabin with lots of cables running under the door. Attached to a rear corner is a wooden pole with an electric downlight, an LED display light, and a "Fire Extinguisher" sign. On the door is a sign advertising "VIP Luxury Toilet Hire", and a smaller sign taped on explaining that this is Datenklo DK F12, providing electricity, wifi, ethernet and phone coverage. It is not a toilet. Behind the datenklo are a number of tents of various sizes.

I'm told that you can get some very weird behaviour from the latest #ai model from #anthropic. Say "See the below". Then leave a blank or line of dashes, then something maybe hinting at what it shouldn't do. It responds with strange fragments of text.
