Together trustee Charlie tells Radio 4 that the HOB decision is political, not theological. LGBTQ+ Christians have waited years for progress - only to face yet more hurdles. 📻: Listen in full here, from 02:38:50 - www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/... 📸: Anna Shvets, Pexels #EqualMarriage #BBCRadio4
In the background, a close up of two people holding hands. The hand closest to the camera has the LGBTQ+ flag flag painted on it, in an elongated strip. Layered on top is a text box, which reads, "What has been decided with this requirement of a two thirds majority in the General Synod is really, in effect, an attempt to stop these services from ever occuring". The quote is accredited to Charlie Bączyk-Bell, a Together trustee. In the bottom right corner is the Together logo.

The appointment of the next Archbishop of Canterbury takes a step forward this month, with candidates being interviewed by the Crown Nominations Commission. Please pray for those called to interview, for the members of the CNC, and for all the staff involved.

The Trustees of Together for the Church of England regret that their original statement in response to the Makin Report could have been read to imply that we wish to exclude those holding a conservative view on sexuality from the Church of England. That is not, and has never been the case, and the statement has now been amended to clarify that this.
