What the rules do. Drillers must register where they put waste pits. Pits need liners where groundwater sits within 50 feet. Commercial waste sites face tougher construction and bonding standards. The Texas Farm Bureau said the changes "leave us in a better position."

The Pentagon told Congress in December it has never analyzed how deporting troops' families affects readiness or morale. On Aug 6 Trump created a Military Spouse Commission to improve life for troops' spouses. He named Pete Hegseth's wife to chair it.
