A movie that takes place where you're from.

The scene behind the diner from the movie Mulholland Drive.

(Back on Twitter, this was my annual Father's day message, but decided to mix it up here on Bluesky.)

A screenshot of a tweet that says "In honor of my father, I'm spending today pretending like I don't exist."

So nice of Funko Pop to honor my dad this Father's Day.

An empty Funko Pop box labelled "My Dad" with the title "Just Going Out for Smokes"

2019 was the last year that I worked as a freelance movie editor. Coincidence?

In a Variety article, Quentin Tarantino asks "what the fuck is a movie" in the age of streaming and claims 2019 was "the last fucking year of movies" "What the fuck is a movie now? Something that plays in theaters for a token release for four fucking weeks? And by the second week, you can watch it on television. I didn’t get into all this for diminishing returns. I mean, it was bad enough in ’97. It was bad enough in 2019, and that was the last fucking year of movies."

POOR THINGS is the best movie of the year IMHO. Maybe Lanthimos' best since DOGTOOTH. Emma Stone gives the performance of the 2020s. Highly recommended.

(This was a tweet from my first month on Twitter, so seems like a good way to start things off here.)
