Here's a map showing the 12 subsidized housing complexes and where crime occurred from Jan 1 - Oct 8, 2024. Red dots are homicides Purple dots are reports of shootings (mostly Shotspotter alerts) Orange dots are other crimes. api.mapbox.com/styles/v1/tf...
A map of toledo with the 12 affordable housing complexes surrounded by half-mile yellow buffers. Crimes are represented on the map by red dots (indicating homicides), purple dots (indicating reports of shootings), and orange dots (indicating other crimes). The map shows that crime was distributed throughout Toledo and not primarily near the affordable housing complexes.

Take the playgrounds at the McClinton Nunn Homes, where thousand dollar camera systems watch over swing sets with no swings.
A photograph of a playground with a swing set and slide surrounded by tan, two-story apartment buildings. In the foreground is a silver telephone pole with a surveillance camera sticking out toward the playground.

Just because it can answer questions, doesn't mean it should.
A headline from Newsweek rading "What a Second Donald Trump Term Would Look Like, According to ChatGPT, Grok"A headline from the New York Times reading "An Interview with a Dead Luminary Exposes the Pitfalls of A.I." The subhed says "A radio station in Poland fired its on-air talent and brought in A.I.-generated presenters. An outcry over a purported chat with a Nobel laureate quickly ended that experiment."

Statement from University of Michigan spokesperson Colleen Mastony regarding tweet going around about the university selling student data for LLM training.
The tweet in question was sent out by a new third party vendor that shared inaccurate information and has since been asked to halt their work. No transactions or sharing of content occurred by the vendor. Student data was not and has never been for sale by the University of Michigan.

The content referenced in the tweet includes papers and speech recordings that had been voluntarily contributed by student volunteers participating, under signed consent, in two research studies, one in 1997 - 2000, and a second in 2006 - 2007. None of the papers or recordings included identifying information, such as names or other personal data.

These particular papers and recordings have long been available for free to academics – again without any identifying information – and have been used as a tool to improve writing and articulation in education.
