20 years after the first edition, comic artist JD Green and I have quietly put together a second edition of the RADZ #ttrpg over the past year. Coming out in the fall. It's like #MadMax, #HeavyMetal and #Thundarr had a baby.

I love getting proofs of a physical product. ❤️

I do too! Ironically, we started Deep7 Press in the late '90s to publish game content in electronic formats, but there's just something about a physical book - the look, the feel, the smell. I'm proud of the Red Dwarf line (and the stuff we've done since). Thanks for the high five! 🙌

By that time my wife/business partner had died, the rights had reverted back to GNP, and honestly I think monitoring an RPG property was more headache than they wanted to deal with. Very resource-intensive, not like a toy or t-shirt. 😆

My good friend Steven Fox just dropped this amazing album for his idSILO project. I've known Steven since we were both making music the late '80s SF Bay Area. He played drums on the And Tears Fell - Requiem album (and for lots of other bands). idsilo.hearnow.com Gorgeous alternative rock!

I was a fan of the property, longing for a Red Dwarf RPG since about 1993, so by the time my publishing company was up and running and no one had done one, we pitched it to Grant Naylor and they accepted. Super fun to develop, and the GNP folks were grand to work with.

Yes indeed! The RPG line was my baby (the rulebook, A.I. Screen/Extra Bits Book, and Series Sourcebook), but I did it with a team of talented writers and artists. Happy to hear you're enjoying it all these years later! 😍

My great-grandaunts, Edith & Grace McDowell, were musicians in the 1920s, and Edison recorded them in his studio in 1922. This pic was water-damaged, but I was able to get a high-resolution scan and digitally repair it for subsequent printing. #edison #macdowellsisters #1920s #noai #photoretouch

Thanks! Yeah, my dad had the same surgery back when it was more experimental. He blew two disks in a sailing race, so his fusion covered 3 vertebrae. We called him RoboPop - he was a lot stronger after that. 😆

If my readers are curious as to my lacking output of late, it's because I had an L4/L5 spinal fusion at the end of April. Just had my follow-up with the neurosurgeon. I'm doing pretty well for a guy with a bunch of metal in his back. Go Mecha-Toddzilla! Rawr! 🦖

Still working on digitizing the stuff I still have on magnetic media, but I'll let you know ASAP when I have it all.

The original Flying Pigs stuff (which was captured in one weekend, really) was definitely recorded on a boombox in the room. I took the original tape home and made copies. Beach had a Tascam 244 which Randy Hensel bought from him, and it ended up with me. Still have a bunch of masters from it.

Even as much into media as we were, there's a vanishingly small documentary record of our shenanigans. I still have a couple Flying Pigs tracks recorded on boombox, and a bunch of Fucked Up Nobodys stuff from Beach's old Tascam 4-track (which I ended up with). Happy to share it along.

I've always been proud of my #TTRPG work, but the quality has seen a big jump in the past 3 to 5 years (in both prose and art).

25K on the new #Arrowflight novel, jumping into chapter 9. 40+ years of worldbuilding on the TTRPG, a film, a comic, and finally the first novel set in that world.

Sitting at just over 15K words into the #Arrowflight WIP, and haven't even begun the main mission. I'm loving the process of getting to know my MC couple and their weird connection. A very different process from my usual pulp adventure material, where 15K would be a quarter through the story.

My brother Matthew would have turned 55 today, which is a surreal concept. His death at far too young an age was a tragic loss, and yet, he's always been with us - even with my younger siblings who didn't know him. Love you, Matt. Always. ❤
